Slime
Slimes are fictional creatures in Boing Boing Animals. They originated on Earth before migrating to planet B01-NG through a wormhole, but return to Earth through a similar wormhole one day prior to the events of the game.
In-game, the player cares for slimes from egg to adult by feeding, bathing and interacting with them.
Anatomy
On their home planet B01-NG, slimes are formless organisms with bodies comprised of a gelatinous substance that is 90-92% water. They are incredibly flexible and can shapeshift freely due to not having any bones.
Slimes raised on Earth, however, are made up of less water, are less flexible, and develop stretchy bones along with growing into specific shapes. This is because their ESD-1 genes activate differently due to the lack of DDD-67, which is only present on planet B01-NG and in Slime Potions.
All slimes also contain a fictional organelle similar to the chloroplast called chloroboing. It allows for photosynthesis, which is why slimes can sustain themselves without food.
Slimes can breathe under water and can dwell on land or underwater.[1]
In-game role
After all the tutorials are completed, the player becomes the primary caregiver for slimes and maintains their fullness, hygiene, and energy. Slimes will never die or disappear if left uncared for.
Upon reaching 100% growth EXP by feeding, bathing, and interacting with a slime, the highest quantity of food given to the slime, the current in-game time and weather, and the slime's gender will count toward its growth requirement.
Once a slime's growth EXP has been filled four times, they grow into adulthood. An adult slime can still be raised to 100% growth EXP for the player to receive a gift based on the slime's species. Adult slimes can enter the spaceship to be sent back to B0-1NG.
Personality
Affection
A slime's intimacy points, which are earned by performing favorite actions as shown on the slime's info card, determine its affection level towards the player, which can also be seen in the info card and in spaceship dialouge.
- 100 points - "Loves you"
- "Loves you very much"
- "Loves you more than anything in the world"
Favorites
Upon purchasing an egg, it will be assigned a favorite food, bathing tool, and activity. Feeding a slime their favorite food, bathing them with their favorite tool, and performing their favorite activity with them will double the amount of growth EXP gained for that slime. There is an equal chance for each food to be any slime's favorite. There is also an equal chance for each bathing tool to be any slime's favorite, with the exception of the broom, which has a 1 in 20 (5%) chance.[2] Slimes cannot be cleaned with the broom unless it is their favorite bathing tool.
Traits
Traits are the first descriptor outlined in a slime's info card in the format "<Type> trait" and have no effect on a slime's behavior or growth. There are currently 38 traits that are randomly assigned to an egg upon its purchase.
Slimes
There are currently a total of 210 slimes in the game, listed below.
