I like how they don't let the characters slip into caricatures at all. It has a real feel to it. Don't get me wrong, I also like procedurals where they do slip into nonsense once in a while – The Rookie comes to mind – but this is a refreshing bit of grit, with humor enriching the story rather than distracting from it.

From what I've read it's fairly accurate in certain aspects, especially about character depiction, but obviously there are some events in the show that are extremely unlikely in real life. Overall, it's comparatively a better police procedural.
