Algeria Pavilion

Algeria is the largest country in Africa, the Arab world, and the Mediterranean basin. Roughly 80% of Algeria is covered by the Sahara Desert. The pavilion begins with an impressive exhibit on stone implements dating back 2.4 million years. Inside is a movie on Algeria’s sustainable development strategy, as well as exhibits highlighting the country’s incredible heritage sites and sightseeing spots, including seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Casbah, Tipasa, Timgad, M’zab Valley and Tassili n’Ajjer. Visitors can deepen their understanding of Algeria’s initiatives tackling global problems such as sustainability, food, water, energy, and eliminating poverty.

Angola

The Republic of Angola's national pavilion offering visitors an inspiring look at how education can shape healthier, more resilient communities. Guided by the theme ‘Educate the Community for a Better Future’ and aligned with the sub-theme ‘Saving Lives’, the Angola Pavilion blends storytelling, cultural expression and social insight to engage global audiences with a uniquely Angolan perspective. At the heart of the pavilion is a 10-minute film titled ‘A Tchissola Dream’, inspired by the true story of a young girl whose childhood battle with malaria fuels her ambition to become a healthcare professional. Screened in a purpose-built fifty-seat theatre, the film explores the balance between traditional healing and modern medicine, while underscoring the pivotal role of women in Angola’s health and education sectors.

Antigua and Barbuda

Located in the Caribbean Sea, Antigua and Barbuda is roughly the size of Tanegashima in Japan. The country, named after its two main islands, has an abundance of wonderful natural scenery ranging from beautiful coral reef beaches to tropical rainforests and deserts. Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is located in western Africa, south of the Sahara Desert. The country’s name means ’land of virtuous people’ in a local language, and it is known for its peaceful, hardworking national character. In this unforgiving arid climate, most of the country’s population works in small-scale sustenance agriculture. Roughly one-third of Japan’s sesame seed imports come from Burkina Faso. The pavilion exhibits of traditional musical instruments, attire, and sculptures as well as photos of international athletes. Centered on the theme of Regeneration, the pavilion will showcase Canada’s diversity, creativity, and commitment to sustainability. The Canada Pavilion features an innovative public presentation conceived by one of Canada's most well-known artistic directors, Robert Lepage. Visitors will take an imaginary river journey across Canada discovering different regions, people and activities along the way. Central African Republic

Located near the centre of the African continent, the Central African Republic is a landlocked nation that is surrounded by six countries including Sudan and Cameroon. The country is in a tropical climate right under the equator, and its two major seasons are the hot rainy season and the relatively temperate dry season. Its products include large volumes of diamonds and gold, as well as a thriving cotton industry. The pavilion covers Central African forest conservation, wildlife preservation, and other social contribution activities, as well as the country’s industrial development. It also screens videos on the sustainable production of traditional handicrafts and the importance of sustainability to the regional economy. There are also exhibits on traditional handicrafts and the country’s primary industries.

Chile Pavilion

Chile is located along the western coast of the southern cone of South America, between the Andes mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Its shape is unique: it is one of the longest countries in the world, spanning a length of about 4,300 km, while also being one of the narrowest, with an average width of only 180 km. In the pavilion, visitors will experience an immersive tour of Chile, getting to know the country through its people; the diversity of its landscapes, culture and geography; and initiatives in the areas of sustainability, culture, energy transition, astronomy, which position Chile as an innovative country that is responsible for constant improvement for the societies of the present and future. This journey will revolve around “Makün: The Mantle of Chile”, a 242 square meter mantle woven by 200 Mapuche women, which is positioned in a sustainable laminated wood structure, manufactured with cutting edge technology. The experience combines innovation and tradition in a unique space intended bring the best of Chile to Expo 2025 visitors. The pavilion has an immersive experience, with an audiovisual experience that covers three of the four walls of the pavilion, measuring 40 meters long in total. From May, enjoy Chilean alcoholic drinks like wine, pisco, gin, vodka, beer and others with our permanent showcase and tasting of wines, pisco, and other alcohols.

The nation’s economy has long been supported by agriculture and mining, but the discovery of vast oil fields in 2020 has positioned Guyana for significant economic growth. Approximately 80% of Guyana is covered by tropical rainforests, making it a haven for biodiversity and natural beauty. This abundance of nature is reflected in the design, inspired by Amaila Falls. Visitors can enjoy videos showcasing the country’s lush landscapes and vibrant ecosystems. This incredible natural wealth has inspired literary movements like magical realism and universal stories such as One Hundred Years of Solitude, symbolized by the iconic yellow butterfly from this masterpiece. Croatia pavilion

This pavilion is available in the following ways. ｛Free admission｝ Croatia's climate diversity offers opportunities for environmental education, scientific research, and climate monitoring initiatives, such as studies on the impact of climate change on coastal ecosystems and biodiversity conservation efforts in national parks like Plitvice Lakes and Krka. Croatia's climate diversity also offers distinct tourism experiences, with the Mediterranean climate along the Adriatic coast attracting sun-seekers for beach holidays, while the continental climate of inland regions like Zagorje and Slavonia provides opportunities for cultural exploration, wine tourism, and outdoor activities. The pavilion is designed as an immersive environment showcasing the diversity of climates in Croatia. Each of the climatic zones in the pavilion is recorded with thermal cameras that capture visitor interactions and microclimates. Selected locations around meteorological stations are recorded with thermal cameras and monitor events in the physical space. Video broadcasts are paired with the calculated time difference between Croatia and Japan and displayed in the pavilion and on the pavilion website.

The theme of the Czechia Pavilion, Talent and Creativity for Life, presents Czechia as a country with a global impact. The pavilion itself is a fusion of modernity and tradition – Japan’s first wooden building without a steel frame, built with sustainable CLT panels and adorned with a façade of traditional Bohemian glass. Guided by the pavilion’s iconic spiral shape, visitors embark on a journey through an art exhibition inspired by the philosophy of Alphonse Mucha, featuring glass sculptures and multimedia art. The rooftop offers stunning waterfront views and houses the CTP Lounge for business presentations. Democratic Republic of the Congo

The second-largest country in Africa in terms of area, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is a vast country located in the basin of the Congo River that flows through central Africa. The surrounding tropical jungle is second only to the Amazon as a natural treasure trove of rare species and many wild animals and plants. It also has an abundance of underground resources like diamonds, gold, and especially cobalt, of which it is the world’s largest producer. At the pavilion, view powerful photographs and videos of the country’s rich natural scenery, mineral resources that are a local speciality, agricultural produce like coffee and cacao, and sightseeing spots.

Producer FUKUOKA Shin-Ichi's Signature Pavilion. 　It presents the theme "Quest of Life. The architecture, with its large floating roof, expresses the autonomous order of life that emerges only for a moment amidst the ever-changing flow of life, while dynamically maintaining equilibrium. 　Once you enter the pavilion, your "life" is instantly transformed into particles and dissolved into the flow, joining in the story of life's eternal evolutionary history. Wajima-nuri Large Globe, a representative work of Wajima-nuri, Japan's proud traditional craft, will be exhibited. The "Wajima-nuri Large Globe," one of the world's largest lacquered globes, was created by Wajima-nuri craftsmen over a period of five years with the wish to "convey to the world the meaning of thinking about others beyond conflicts and divisions. It took five years for Wajima-nuri craftsmen to create this globe. The globe was unscathed by the Noto Peninsula earthquake on January 1, 2024, and as a "miracle globe" and a "symbol of recovery," it continues to send a universal Exhibition Center message to resolve issues common to all humankind. It is a "miracle globe" and a "symbol of recovery. The globe, with a diameter of 1 meter, is a beautiful and delicate globe of jet-black and gold colors, The "Expo will be held for six months, and visitors will be able to experience the significance of the Expo through various sensibilities. Producer KOYAMA Kundo's Signature Pavilion. Our pavilion addresses environmental issues and starvation, presenting the possibilities of Japanese food culture and cutting-edge food technology to explore new eating practises leading to a better future together with visitors. We also want to create an aftertaste like the one below. By resetting what you take for granted through food, we want visitors to become aware of the most important things in life and to develop a sense of gratitude and kindness from modesty, which will lead to a feeling of happiness. Starting tonight, you will want to cherish meal-times a bit more than you did yesterday. We hope we can spread the Japanese word “Itadaki-masu” and new attitudes to food to people across the world.

The theme pavilion of "Electric Power Pavilion -Eggs of Possibilities" is "Opening the Future with Energy Possibilities. This pavilion is a fun place to learn about the various energy possibilities of the future. <Composition inside the pavilion The interior of the pavilion consists of three sections: "Pre-show," "Main Show," and "Post-show. Upon entering the pavilion, visitors choose one of the "egg-shaped devices" that light up in various colors, hang it around their necks, and tour the pavilion. Visitors will encounter the various possibilities of Possibility of Energy in the future through the interplay of Eggs of Possibility with images and space, through hands-on exhibits to increase curiosity and new discoveries, and through immersive exhibits with light and sound in a large space. <Pre-show> -Introduction to Experiences that are about to Begin The experience of searching for the many "Eggs of Possibility" will be introduced through the interplay of video and egg-shaped devices. <Main Show> Exploring the Possibilities of Energy Possibilities Area About 30 energy sources that have the potential to open up the future will be exhibited. Visitors will experience new discoveries and surprises as they search for the many possibilities of energy through the interactive use of the Eggs of Possibility device. Brilliance Area Visitors will experience the brilliance of life opened up by the possibilities of Possibility of Energy through an immersive exhibition in which light and sound from countless LEDs arranged three-dimensionally in a large space are interlocked with the Eggs of Possibility device held by the visitor. ＜Post Show - Reflection on the Experience Visitors will look back on their experience of the main show through a display of actual items and panels in a space based on the concept of an encyclopedia. Visitors will realize that there are actually many possibilities of energy in their immediate surroundings.

Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

Ethiopia, Africa’s second most populous nation and the only country on the continent never to have been colonised, boasts a rich cultural heritage and natural treasures. At the pavilion, visitors are greeted by a replica of Lucy, the 3.2-million-year-old ancient humanoid fossil. The pavilion also showcases Ethiopia’s agricultural bounty, including a variety of green coffee beans, spices, honey, handicrafts, and premium leather goods. A large monitor display highlights Ethiopia’s diverse export products, investment opportunities, industrial parks, tourism attractions, and cultural traditions. As the birthplace of Arabica coffee, Ethiopia proudly presents its iconic coffee ceremony. Visitors can enjoy this cultural experience while savouring Ethiopian snacks.

Federal Republic of Nigeria

Located in west-central Africa, Nigeria is called the ‘Giant of Africa’ in acknowledgement of its huge human and natural resources, same for its political and economic leadership. Nigeria is rapidly developing, thanks to government efforts and financing, as one of the world’s leading oil producers and natural gas reserves. The pavilion includes photographs and videos that cover the current state of its technical revolution, strategies in saving lives, arts, traditional handicrafts, and sightseeing spots. Visitors can also enjoy Ayo, a traditional boardgame.

Federal Republic of Somalia

Somalia is located in the Horn of Africa in eastern Africa along the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean. For this reason, it has the longest coastline in Africa at roughly 3,000 km. The Somali people account for roughly 85% of Somalia’s population, and two-thirds of them are nomadic people who live a traditional lifestyle in which they travel on camels. Under a ceiling decorated like the night sky, the pavilion showcases the country’s beauty, including antiques, maritime heritage, handicrafts, oil paintings, and traditional musical instruments. There are also videos about the country on display to be viewed in the relaxed setting of the pavilion.

Federated States of Micronesia

Micronesia is comprised of over 600 islands east of the Philippines in the western Pacific Ocean near the equator. These islands extend roughly 3,000 km from east to west and 1,200 km from north to south. There are four highly autonomous states—Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae—each with different languages, traditions, and cultures. The seawater temperature and air temperature are high throughout the year, and the coral reefs are famous for their beauty. Micronesia’s scuba diving and snorkelling spots are some of the most popular in the world. The pavilion covers the country’s beautiful natural environment, cultural customs, and ways of life.

France Pavilion

The theme of the France Pavilion is a hymn to love. In Japanese culture, the legend of the red thread refers to the joining of two beings by an invisible, indestructible magic thread attached to their little fingers. The France Pavilion, with its own “red thread”, offers a new vision of the future, one guided by various forms of Love such as “Loving yourself”, “Loving others” and “Loving nature”. From the entrance, its facade will unfold, resembling an open theater stage to the public while preserving an element of mystery. The side facades, like stage curtains, will remain entirely veiled. There will be a garden, revealing itself at the last moment, during the visit from the permanent exhibition.

The Future Life Village is a pavilion where people take center stage. Various participants bring a wide variety of questions and proposals based on the concepts of "future living" and "actions for the future," to generate dialogue among participants and visitors, providing a space for everyone to imagine and co-create the future society together. With exhibits and stages that change daily, it provides a place where participants can connect with each other on a daily basis through two opportunities for co-creation: dialogue through hands-on exhibits that go beyond "looking" in the exhibition hall, and dialogue through presentations that go beyond "listening" in the stage hall. -Three projects that coexist in the Future Life Village The “Future Life Experience” will present ideas for future living through exhibits and presentations in fields close to our daily lives, focusing on "future food," "future culture," and "future healthcare." At the “TEAM EXPO Pavilion,” participants become the "protagonists" and declare their "actions for the future." This is a space where presenters and visitors can engage in dialogue and generate new "co-creation" towards the realization of a future society. In the "Best Practices" section, high-quality projects that solve global issues will be selected, allowing visitors to learn about the issues from a global perspective and the efforts being made to solve them for a better future.

Producer ISHIGURO Hiroshi's Signature Pavilion. Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan will be held under the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives. The Signature Pavilion "Future of Life" led by leading robotics expert ISHIGURO Hiroshi will create and exhibit a new way of being under the theme of "Amplification of Lives. How far will life evolve in 50 years, and what happiness will it bring to our lives and society? The time has come for us to design our own "life" as we wish to live it.

Gabon Pavilion

Tropical rainforest covers 80% of this country in the middle of Africa. The republic is regarded as one of the Earth’s ‘lungs’, a status supported by what is said to be the world’s highest CO2 absorption per capita. It is a treasure trove of precious flora and fauna, and diverse species are also protected. Screened booths also allow visitors to enjoy an immersive sensory experience, complete with unique smells.

GAS PAVILION OBAKE WONDERLAND

The concept of the pavilion is "Shape Our Future!" is the concept of this entertainment pavilion for visitor participation, where visitors can put on XR goggles and experience the thrill and excitement of "BAKERU" into the future with the "OBAKE(Friendly sgapeshifter)". The pavilion introduces new energy sources of the future while conveying the importance of each of us changing our awareness and behavior (BAKERU) toward the realization of a carbon-neutral society. You can experience the mysterious world of ghosts where virtual and reality are interwoven with XR Goggles (Bakeru Goggles). In addition to a fun experience where you can get anything you want, there are also some surprising developments! For those who cannot wear XR goggles, such as small children, we have prepared an experience using smart devices (Bakeru Frames). The Gas Pavilion is a triangular-shaped building with a maximum height of approximately 18 meters. At night, it is illuminated to create a "carbon-neutral flame" that will light up the future. In addition, the use of SPACECOOL®, a radiant-cooling material, in the membrane material will reduce the air conditioning load and achieve energy conservation and low carbon emissions. We will contribute to low-carbon and decarbonization in buildings as well.
