In Marca's article about Xabi's pre-match talk with Sevilla, many Marca readers are criticized Vinicius. I saw few negative comments about Xabi, but more negative comments about Vini. The criticisms directed at Xabi included calling him a coward (despite Vini's terrible comments about Alonso, he stubbornly continued to start Vini), Alonso becoming an internet meme more than a footballing icon (just like in the early 2010s), and mocking Alonso's thoughts on the Negreira case.
However, in my opinion Xabi is suffering from burnout, his laughing is fake, and he gives the same answers to questions over and over. Though, even before El Clasico, he was giving robotic answers, constantly saying things like "the team is improving" or "the team play is great." Now he's giving answers like "no, I haven't seen it." Poor Xabi, I wish he had stayed in Germany for another year or had a successful career in the Premier League. Even in Leverkusen, he didn't give such a robotic answer. German journalists were like the Spanish ones, but Xabi would laugh at them, not the Spanish journalists. #FREEXABI

I saw some people blame Xabi saying he lost the locker room but i think it's pretty obvious this is a problem with the mentality of the players not the coach. People have been giving him a lot of shit for not sanctioning Vini and obviously it pissed me off too but what do they expect him to do when the club clearly backs the player not him. His press conference answers don't worry me that much tho I like it's really just a matter of giving those journalists as little as possible.
