Now that it's been 24 hrs, I can't go with the claim that Virtuacon's creator, Jack, was unaware of his artist, Ben, using AI art. My own research lead me to the LinkedIn for Ark Events Group (company behind VC) and AI art in previous projects these two have together. 1/2
Had an online con reach out to me in October. Didn't see their message til 10 days later. Responded I'd be interested to see the "walkthrough deck" they offered me. No response, so didn't look into it and forgot. Seeing now claims of it being tied to crypto and AI art use. Sigh.

I hope that any game dev or 3rd party that allegedly invested in this unknowingly have the ability to be refunded. I was also told Jack is a friend of several creators that may or may not have been tied to this event. I hope those creators reevaluate those friendships. 2/2

Wait where did he claim he was unaware of the AI? I’ve been checking the Twitter and discord for the “announcement” some creators said virtuacon was gonna post and nada.

These claims were made in a separate creators only server for those participating in the event. He also claimed he saw the design process, but there’s nothing in the singular sketch that shows a definitive start to finish of what was made.
