Now imagine if some pajeet said that, trannies would be throwing a revolution but its fine cuz muh friend Linus said it, like earlier today that Baldurs Gate guy apparently said that they use AI for developing their games but trannies are fine with it cause he made a tranny game, he has the pass

>Continuing, Torvalds said he's "much less interested in AI for writing code" and far more excited about "AI as the tool to help maintain code, including automated patch checking and code review before changes ever reach him."
"AI" is good a pattern recognition and that's all you need for reviewing code. I fail to see the problem?
>>
Nothing will happen. Things will proceed like usual, but grifters gotta grift.

AI derangement syndrome is a thing
>>
So Linus is not one of the "AI bad" crowd but a sensible man who realizes that it is here to stay and can be useful. That is a good thing.
>>
>>107576671 (OP)
I support it, krita for example added a stable diffusion plug in to it, so why not linux? add an LLM like deepseek or gemma to it

There isn't one, unless information is omitted for the sake of causing or inciting panic and hysteria - as is the objective of this thread.

He also just sees it as a tool and doesn’t believe in the whole “muh AGI” hype or that it will be able to program rocket engines from scratch.

This legitimately reminds me of the NFT craze.

ubless you like to watch and bitch and moan from the sidelines. up to you

AI is just another abstraction. only retards seethe about it
>>
>>107576695
Yeah, humans do heavily operate on a mindset where it's not so much the idea or logic in itself that they agree or disagree with as much as it's the person it's coming from. I used to socially experiment with this when I was younger, which involved telling people, "Hitler actually had some good ideas" and taking it from there. The results were often depressing for my view of humanity, with the subjects getting offended and using emotional thinking over logical thinking.
>>
>>107576671 (OP)

Ai for code reviews is where its best at honestly
Shouldn’t be used for coding
Linus again is correct
>>
>>107576725

And exactly how most companies don’t use AI. When I dared suggest we use AI for this instead in my company rather than agents, people got mad.
>>
>>107576725
>I fail to see the problem?
The problem will be when it blows ass at that like it does everything else, brainlet.
>>
>>107576671 (OP)
linus is a coward with zero principles.
>>
>>107576764
are you fucking retarded? LMAO kys
>>
>trusting AI code reviews
I had a clanker tell me that my optimal hand vectorized code could be made "more readable".
>>
So ChatGPT claims that you own all code generated
But it rrquires you comply with the law
That makes the code nonfree, does it not?
>>
>>107576671 (OP)
>to maintain code
linux has a serious problem with maintainers since linus refuses to adopt gpl3 and the cucks that stayed are quickly learning how ultimately meaningless the kernel is for free software when android etc exists. he needs AI to make up for the shortfall. linux's downfall begins to accelerate.
>>
>>107577508
>I used to socially experiment with this when I was younger, which involved telling people, "Hitler actually had some good ideas"
fucking autistic retard lol
>>
>>107576671 (OP)
the thing these things do best is code
and not even just writing it, understanding it
so this makes sense. linus has a very down to earth view of this technology
>>
>>107576671 (OP)
>Tranny tech journos misrepresenting what was said vol 90001
The "maintain" part here does not mean writing the code which of course the journo wants to imply, it was about putting in a framework where AI could clean up / police commit messages before sending them to maintainers because zoomer coders suck so much even at simplest things like writing properly formatted commit messages that the maintainers spend too much of their precious time trying to read the badly formatted and worded commit messages
So the AI would help to clean up the commit message and the submitter would still check it afterwards
>>
Why are we giving ai kernel level access. Jfc

/g/ simply hates anything that's new and advancements. This board is 100% contrarian and full of edgy 18 year olds that think they are better than the rest of the world.
