V-22 Osprey Accidents Rose In Last Two Years, Watchdog Says

The Pentagon’s troubled V-22 Osprey program has seen its accident rate steadily increase in recent years, according to a new report from congressional auditors, despite heightened scrutiny after a series of deadly mishaps.

The incident-plagued tilt-rotor aircraft recorded more serious accidents in each of the last two fiscal years than the average during any of the previous eight years, the Government Accountability Office said in an assessment released on Friday.
