Trump to deliver prime-time address to nation
President Trump will deliver a live televised address from the White House on Wednesday evening.
“My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST,” Trump wrote Tuesday in a Truth Social post announcing his address.
“I look forward to ‘seeing’ you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!” he wrote.
The president did not provide any further details on the address.
The address comes as Trump approaches the one-year mark of his second administration. The president has faced blowback from critics recently for his messaging on affordability ahead of the midterms and focus on foreign policy.
However, the president appears to be turning his attention increasingly to domestic matters, traveling to the battleground state of Pennsylvania last week to tout his administration’s efforts to fight inflation. He is also slated to visit battleground North Carolina on Friday.
The latest polling average from The Hill and Decision Desk HQ on Tuesday showed Trump’s approval rating rising 3.5 percentage points to 44.8 percent over the past month.
