As an Adelaide doctor, I am seeing the health impacts of climate change in my work. I see the impacts that floods, storms and extreme weather events have on my patients' health and their ability to access health care. I see impacts on pregnancy, increased asthma and hayfever and most obviously, impacts on my patients mental health.

Santos, along with Woodside are Australia's major climate criminals. They buy political influence via donations and use sports washing and greenwashing as a corporate tool. The TDU should divest from Santos as should all other organisation receiving funding from them. #botcottTDU

Santos advertising at a bicycle event would surely be contrary to their interests - many would down grade their estimate of the company for being associated with that event.

I agree with blocking the advertising but, as with most of our hoped-for second-tier fixes, this would be little more than nibbling at the edges. Nevertheless, a worthwhile opening endeavour.

Big corporates all around the world are responsible for the bulk of our global heating. And not only the fossil fuel businesses, although they are the major contributors. If world-wide capitalism and 'flexible' democracies could be brought to heel, we might then see significant improvements.

As things stand, we have the major corporates with way too much influence over malleable, vote-conscious governments and ordinary mums and dads caught in cleft sticks as shareholders in these corporates. They expect their shares to pay dividends but there's only one way that can happen, ie, business as usual.

While ever self interest rules - and until we humans understand our essential relationships with all of Nature - something catastrophic will be needed for us to change course. And in one form or another, it's on its way to meet us!

The best way to stop corporations form causing pollution is to stop using their products. The consumer is just as much a part of the problem as anyone because without the consumer there would be no product.
