A 17-year-old 
boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he stabbed a 46-year-old male store clerk in the stomach with a fruit knife with a blade ~9 cm long on the premises of a convenience store in Tajime-cho, 
Fukuyama, at around 1:40am on Dec 9.
Police arrived after another store clerk on duty at the time called to report that a shoplifter had fled and was being pursued.
When questioned by police, the boy said "I have nothing to say."
