I tested Xiaomi cheap phone for few days and this phones have preinstalled chinese tracking software.Mine displayed 3x more often adds for Temu on same youtube video. Flip phone is a way to go. Newer Samsungs have finger reading unit under cellphone screen so you cannot tape it like on power button.

I switched from spyphone for iphone. I dont use faceid, fingerprint or audio stuff, I type my password manually. Oh I got studies in university of applied sciences related to Information Technologies. And learnt pretty much nothing there. Oh and simcard has processor, memory and operating system - which is controlled 100% by your operator. Enjoy your "privacy"

Stop being a 'smart'phone zombie and get a flip-phone with unlimited calls & text. Take the battery out by popping off the back cover (without tools), at leisure, unlike 'smart'phones. Use a computer at home. Don't use Google, use DuckDuckGo's search engine or others. Don't use Chrome, try FireFox or any 'anti-Google' browser. There are many add-ons that can block scripts and trackers, but one must be vigilant and delete history. Privacy in today's tech world is difficult, but one doesn't have to make it easy for them.

Call me old fashioned, but I never owned a smart device and I never will.

Personally, I use a dumbphone. If I ever got a smartphone, it would have no SIM card, would only be used on public Wi-Fi, would stay in airplane mode, and would be kept in a Faraday pouch when not in use.
