I loved it, and watching it on AVP is even better!
Has anyone had good or bad experiences using MacOS NoMachine to work on a Linux (or windows) desktop?
I’m curious if the remote system’s desktop could fill up an ultra wide virtual display?
Recently bought Vision Pro for work as a corporate worker for a boomer F500 company. Since office devices are MDM managed and we can use our own iCloud Id, I figured the AVP would bring a boost in productivity via Mac Virtual Display. Especially when corporate only provides a single 1080p monitor in the office. I didn't really think much about this because we can technically use our own monitors when logging in from home.
It seems that the MVD is tripping all sorts of security red flags, apparently by endpoint security systems. I suspect that the MVD is not a real display in the sense that it records the screen and streams it over to the AVP.
Got a call last week from corporate to cease the activity. My access got terminated after using it for a couple day at the office and I will be disciplined next week. So just a cautionary tale to double-check with IT before using the AVP for work.
I own the Vision Pro M5 and M4 Max MacBook. I have the Developer Strap 2nd gen and certified Thunderbolt 4 and 5 cables.
I want to get Mac Virtual Display's refresh rate to be "Promotion" (120hz).
How can I do this? Thanks so much in advance!
EDIT: Just submitted Feedback - ty for the advice!
I just did the head scan for the new dual loop band and it’s saying I’m a L but for solo loop I’m using a Small. Does this match anyone else’s experience?
Edit: thanks everyone! Sounds like moving up by one size is probably wise.

Backstory: this is my second Apple Vision Pro.
Back in 2023 I bought the original M2. At the time my daughter was a baby, and realistically it just was not practical for me to have something on my head that fully removed me for long periods. I missed the 14 day return window and ended up selling it on Marketplace for a huge loss because it became a paperweight.
Fast forward almost two years and here I am again, this time with the M5 that I just bought this week.
This time around, I like it a lot more. I have an air cover coming in the mail to pair with the dual knit band for added comfort. I am much more of an open periphery guy, especially since I use it on the treadmill. I do not like the light seal at all. I still do not like the weight though. That has not changed.
Here is my dilemma about keeping it or returning it within the 14 day window.
On one hand, it is absolutely amazing. You will not get a better movie or TV watching experience than this. It is also a multitasking wizard with how many apps I can have going at once. With the open, no light seal setup, I can walk on my treadmill while watching virtual walking YouTube videos, which is honestly my favorite use case. With the open periphery it’s just like an extremely heavy pair of glasses which I like more than being fully closed off.
On the other hand, I am struggling to dignify the purchase. I really do not want this to turn into another paperweight like the last one. I really wish Apple was further along with 3D experiences and movies. Sure, there are more options now compared to when it first released but not many at all. If there were more 3D content available, I would keep this 100 percent without hesitation. Right now it feels like there are only a handful of options on Disney+, and everything else I want to watch in 3D I have to pay for individually, which feels ridiculous. There’s a couple of shorts on Apple TV but that’s not enough.
I do not use it for work at all. I work in engineering, but most of what I do is classified, so the AVP is not usable for work or productivity in my case. That leaves it primarily as an exercise and entertainment device. I love the 3D movies and shows that do exist, I just wish there were a lot more of them. It also would be nice to eventually have YouTube and Netflix app as many pointed out. I tried using it for cloud gaming, useless.. lag is too bad for high intensity games like call of duty even with 2 gig Google fiber internet (with hardwired extender points throughout the house). I will not use it with virtual Mac display as I don have a Mac.
For those of you who have kept yours long term, or returned it, how did you make the call? Did it stay in your regular rotation, or did it slowly turn into something you stopped reaching for?
TL;DR Keep or Return?
The dual knit band is magical! I used solely the solo knit band, I found it the more comfortable one between the 2 official bands, and I had no issue whatsoever. (minor neck discomfort and face redness only)
But today, after finally getting my dual knit, it changed everything! My first impression is like “where did my AVP go?” The weight is almost completely gone, and the device is almost floating on my face. One of the best purchases of the year!
I’m going to have a greater time watching Pluribus tonight. 😄
I wish Apple TV/Disney+ gave you the option to watch trailers in 3D. Is there an app that does or a good way to find collections of 3D movie trailers?
For me, the best app was “Encounter a dinosaur.” But that wasn’t enough—
so I built an app designed to prank your brain, wrapped inside a puzzle game.
Every time I’ve had someone try it, this is their reaction—
100% of the time, after one of the tricks.
App link:
After months of trying to make the Apple Vision Pro light seal work, I think I’ve finally accepted it’s the device’s biggest flaw.
I’ve run through pretty much everything: global clusters, Annapro 2, Aircover… you name it. I eventually gave up and used the Aircover without a light seal, which was surprisingly comfortable. Then the dual knit band came out, so of course I had to give it another go.
At first, the dual knit felt like a big improvement - definitely the best strap option Apple has released so far. But after a few weeks of trying it with the light seal, I’ve reached the same conclusion: the light seal is just too uncomfortable. It’s rigid, the cushioning is thin, and the whole frame feels like it digs into your face rather than resting on it.
I’ve now gone back to the Aircover with the light seal removed, combined with the dual knit band, and I think that might actually be the sweet spot.
Honestly, the light seal design needs a complete rethink. I get that Apple needs some structure for tracking and stability, but a stiff plastic frame with minimal padding just isn’t it. Apple, please, sort this out for AVP 2.
It seems that when I transfer videos via AirDrop from my iPad or iPhone to the Apple Vision Pro, it goes directly to the Photos app. Is there a way to send it to the Files app instead?
It’s kind of annoying because there’s no title for any of the files and these are movies.
Some of the piano apps look interesting, I'd definitely check them out if I had a piano... I'm even considering buying a piano to them them a go. BUT, right now I don't have a piano, only a guitar so looking for options?
Thanks to the advice received here last week about the Vision Pro and my use case for it, I pulled the trigger and received it today and have been having a blast playing with it for the past couple hours. However I do have a couple questions about some issues I have been seeing:
-
I was fitted for the 21 W light seal but I do see some light down around my nose, and more then once it has told me to move the Vision Pro down further on my face. It also is somewhat blurry at times down at the very bottom of the screen. Should I go to an Apple Store to be fitted for a different seal or try something like this:
-
At times it feels like I can see a bit of reflection from the screen onto the lens, is that normal?
-
It came with a light seal already attached to the Vision Pro and then another one in the box, are they the same?
-
The wrist flick mini Control Center is always blurry no matter where it is on the screen for me, but no other apps are, even an app in the same area is crystal clear?
-
This ones a real dumb question but every time I go to put on or off the Vision Pro I grab it by the light seal since I don't want to smudge the front screen but it usually pops off.. where are you suppose to grab it from?
I just read that the disappointment we experience when taking a regular 2D photo of a moon that looks huge but not in the photo is due to an illusion that shouldn’t happen with a spatial photo. Gotta try it.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share something I have been building for the Holiday Season. Over the past three and a half weeks, I created Santa’s Village, a holiday micro-world designed just for Apple Vision Pro, and it just went live on the App Store today.
To clarify... it's not a Game or passive spatial video. It's kind of like stepping inside a snow globe that comes alive around you. I wanted to make something warm, joyful, and nostalgic. Something to revisit throughout the season for both kids and parents, and feel that spark of Christmas bliss .
If anyone here enjoys holiday-themed experiences, diorama-style worlds, or spatial storytelling experiments, I would genuinely love your feedback. Vision Pro is such a fun (and challenging) platform to build for, and this community has been a huge source of inspiration.
If you want to check it out, it is on the App Store under Santa’s Village or just go to
Happy to answer questions about the build process too.
Happy Holidays everyone.
The screen looks amazing, clear, high resolution and snappy. However I'm connecting a Bluetooth mouse to my AVP and it just seems sluggish / delayed a bit... It doesn't make the gaming unplayable but it is making it a bit tiresome.
If I sit in front of my PC and use the keyboard / mouse I have directly connected, its snappy as hell. Just my BT mouse to AVP that is the issue.
Anyone have a fix or is this a one off or possibly should I get a better mouse?
Here’s an early internal demo of a tool I’m building called Peel.
It streams Mac apps as their own windows on Apple Vision Pro and iPad instead of being locked into the single-window Mac Virtual Display or Sidecar/etc.
Peel currently supports:
- Multiple Mac app windows streamed at once
- Direct gesture + touch input into those apps
- iPad + Vision Pro as clients
- Multi-host and multi-client setups
- LAN-only pairing for low latency and security
- Keeps your Mac desktop layout untouched
- No streaming delay or cutoff when transitioning between devices
- Windows stay active and in position even when Vision/iPad is locked
This video isn’t a trailer or a polished promo. I’m just sharing the current state of the system while I continue development (and finish finals).

I went and looked at the only 2 reasonably priced AVP's on FB marketplace in my city today. both about ~2280usd, both 512gb M2. one comes with a spare battery and surreal controllers.
These are the only 2 times i've put on an AVP and I noticed quite alot of issues, coming here to find out if maybe it was all in my head.
The first one I looked at with the controllers, I used outside in the shade. Eye tracking and hand tracking seem to work perfect. The passthrough quality seemed great. But I kept getting like a wavy/flickering distortion in the top left and top right, so much that I decided to pass on it. also, my phone was completely blurry and unreadable, even an ipad next to me was blurry and unreadable.. (21N? decent fit)
The second one without the controllers, I used inside after dark, in I'd say a well-lit room. the eye tracking and hand tracking was not accurate, even after recalibrating the eye tracking, it worked much better, but not perfect and it didnt register alot of my finger pinches... Also, more concerning the passthrough was blurry and grainy/noise. (i didnt notice this one the first one). however, my phone was alot easier to read, although still blurry. (21W? fit not as good)
The AVP isn't sold by apple in my country so i cant really get a demo of a for sure good working one. The prices on eBay are alot better but the sellers wont ship to Thailand, and if theres any import fees + shipping its not going to be a huge saving.
Hi everyone,
I am looking for a small group of Vision Pro owners who run models locally to help test a new app update via TestFlight.
I'm releasing the second version of my local AI app on all Apple platforms, but I don't own a Vision Pro, and the simulator can't run local models, so I haven't been able to test actually running the models.
The idea is to bring large language models to Apple Vision Pro with everything running on-device. No cloud calls, no account required, and no data leaving your headset. You can load models and work with your own documents, all while keeping everything local to the device.
Right now I am trying to make sure:
-
Both GGUF and MLX pipelines work correctly on the device, including multimodal support
-
The UI feels natural in visionOS rather than like a quick iPad port
-
The app remains responsive when the model is under load
If you enjoy experimenting with local models and are comfortable with occasional bugs, I would be very grateful for your help.
I can share the TestFlight link in DMs. Feedback can be as detailed or as informal as you like.
If you are interested, please send me a message! Also, even if you're not willing to test, feel free to drop some creative ideas on how I can make the most of the VisionOS space with local models!
Jaded sim racer here.
I want a headset that has mOLED, 120hz, around 30-40 ppd and a display port connection.
Since that doesn’t exist, I’m investigating the M5 AVP.
For PCVR, what’s the absolute lowest motion to photon latency you can get with this thing?
Developer strap? Dedicated WiFi router? If the M5 AVP can achieve sub 25 ms motion to photon latency consistently, I’ll ditch my PSVR2 for one of these immediately.
after 1 or 2day of no use, I always should charge again until beep sound notifying I'm awake!
why they don't release charging dock like meta?
always I should charge to use it.
It bother me from using it daily...
is 2nd gen same as 1st gen?
I am looking into picking up an M5 Vision Pro, primarily for productivity reasons. My work is an even split between written content creation and photo manipulation, with a splash of programming mixed in.
My main use case is a blended mix of working in Mac virtual display, while simultaneously engaging with the native apps in the headset.
I am comfortable with long term wear of a head mounted display. I know there was much complaining about the comfort of the M2 Vision Pro with the Solo Loop band, but it seems Apple has fixed this on the new model.
If you are a creative, how has the Vision Pro fit into your work environment? Does the AVP help improve focus for easier and more productive deep work? Would you recommend the AVP for this workload?
First, is there an official name for the “screen” on the front of the AVP?
Second, any way to alter what it shows? It’d be neat to be able equip an alternate set of eyes….
Cannot emphasize this enough. Nearly every sensory problem I had was resolved immediately by just figuring out my eyes’ prism value, and adding it to the Digital Prism Correction feature.
Queasy? Dizzy? Hard to focus on UI elements? There’s a VERY good chance you just need prism correction!
But you have to insist on getting measured for it. For some reason, optometrists don’t usually measure prism value by default.
The exam is quick and easy: They just display two images which they separate horizontally and then vertically, asking you when the images look clear — done.
Deciding on whether to buy the movie now or not and if it’s in 3D it may convince me to buy it sooner than later!
If anyone knows I appreciate it!
I think it would be cool to find a way to train your eyes to see it; plus, even if didn't work, at least you could see the images. Any thoughts?
Anyone else having random restarts all the time while the device is sitting there? Seems random and isn’t new; it’s been happening for the entire time I’ve had the device. Spoke to Apple Support and they said it isn’t normal.
Hello all! I've been building for the past several months. The /feed is pretty robust, and uses filters (look at the article nav) to help curate your feed. By default, it tries to filter harmful or emotionally intense content with an overlay. It's not perfect, and the summary content can be off, but the concepts are all working. You can also define personas so that the summary text reads however you want. There are a few built in to play with.
Note: Unlike every other news service, you get the firehose by default. Use filters (tag/entities) to remove things you don't want to see or require those you do. Pretty simple.
All of this is to say that I've been building a WebXR experience for the feed. If you visit in Safari from visionOS, you'll be sent to a spatial view! It's a little wonky, but I wanted to get this out there for feedback. All elements are movable to whatever view you'd prefer.
Would love your feedback. There's no fee here, no need to "sign up." It stores your filters in local storage as a guest.
Thank you!

PCVR gaming on Vision Pro is getting better, the latest ALVR builds have fixes that eliminate AWDL lag. Apple apparently fixed this quietly in visionOS 26 with an entitlement that no one noticed until recently. ShinyQuagsire worked his magic.
What does this mean? If you have PSVR2 controllers, it is now much easier to wirelessly stream PC games from SteamVR. No need for a dev strap! No need to set channel 149 on your WiFi router!
Red Dead Redemption Death Stranding Resident Evil Village Assassins Creed Etc
I still don’t even have Logic Pro for IPad or Final Cut Pro available.
Is there a loader for running iOS games/apps?
So, I recently posted a review of the M5 and how amazing its.
The M5 had a bit of a coil whine noise so I've sent it back for a replacement. Went back to the M2 and have some findings:
-
Visual quality wise - it's difficult to tell in ALVR. To the extent - I think for ALVR I'm sticking with the M2.
-
Comfort wise - the M2 with mods is better than the dual knit band. I have the little radon which attaches 2 dual knits together on my M2 and it's more comfortable and easier to adjust two knit bands than one.
-
I'm going to haver to convert some more spatial photos but I don't see thatch of a difference.
The biggest improvement is the refresh rate and speed of the M5. However, it's the same iPad argument. i.e. whats the difference between fast and faster.
Also, the M5 does not solve the instabilities of Vision OS. For example sometimes Safari can crash for me. M5 it still crashes. It's not a resource issue.
Overall - Mixed thoughts. The £3.5k I'm putting in for the M5 version doesn't feel worth it. I can get £1.5k for M2. I wonder if I just hold onto he M2 and buy an M5 next year second hand for £2.5k instead. Seems to make way more sense.
Then instead I can buy a Canon r5 Mark 2 and a lens for my photography which will add an extra dimension with the AVP for reviewing photos.
Anyway... sorry if my initial review misled people into thinking the M5 was some god piece of tech. It's really, really good. It's just the M2 is also really, really good.
Visually - I think in retrospect the system level super sampling isn't as apparent and there is also lens lottery which probably makes more of a difference. On the M5 I'm sending back you can see a VERY subtle mura too which I've never noticed on the M2.
Honestly - if I had an M2 - I wouldn't upgrade. The only reason I'm contemplating it is to squeeze out that very tiny potential visual upgrade and because I might sell my MacBook and replace art with an AVP/Mac mini setup which would definitely require any benefits of the AVP M5.
Survival isn't guaranteed.
In case the title isn't clear.. I find it odd that the network connection doesn't begin until you log into the headset.
An example- I'm about to watch a movie so I power on the headset (connect the battery) then head to the kitchen to make popcorn, I hear the chime so I know it powered on. A minute or two later I put the headset on, authenticate, open Apple TV but then it takes a minute or two for content to load until WiFi connects.
Why the wait? Why doesn't it just establish a connection as soon as it powers on?
I am new to the Vision Pro - only had it for about 4 days, but I am noticing the device does not seem to manage closing application that well. For example, I open several apps and close them as I use it throughout the day. Eventually, I notice where an application refuses to open. I click on it and nothing happens and then I notice the device is running slow. I open the force close menu and see several applications are running in the background, I force close them and then everything goes back to normal. Has anyone else noticed this? Am I not closing the application properly? I am a long time iPad and iPhone and Mac user, but I am fully aware that it could be me as well. I just think this is odd behavior for the device, especially Apple is normally pretty good at RAM/application management.
hello everyone I’m debating on buying this Vision Pro for media. I was wondering simply if someone with a headset could tell me if the crunchyroll is still being updated for Vision Pro ? and if so when was the last update ! thank you so much in advance
Can anyone recommend any apps they use with it? And perhaps some youtube tutorials? General thoughts?

Has anyone found a way of playing Minecraft on device that doesn't require streaming the game from an iPad/iPhone or Mac/PC?
Honestly idk how Apple fumbled like this or just forgot about it lol. Why do we have widgets without the most important widget app shortcuts. In the click of a button on my phone I can make my pc turn on and my lights all at the same time but I can’t do the same on my AVP 😔 sad
I already have and enjoy Demeo on my quest. How good is the Vision Pro version? How often does it go on sale?
I could not find any information on the subject: does safari have support for webxr binding for webgpu?
Hi All,
I'm getting ready to post my Vision Pro M2 on swappa. To prepare the device, I (1) Updated it to the latest OS, (2) Turned off "Find My" on the M2, (3) Removed the M2 from my Apple ID devices and (4) Erased all content and settings.
When I power the unit up, it starts at the script "hello" scene and starts the setup, so I think it is good to go. If I missed anything, please let me know!
Thank you!
So I just found today that is possible to AirPlay to a Mac without any additional software in recent osx versions… is this possible to Vision Pro?, this could be an open door to use it as a monitor on computers that are not signed with the same Apple ID without needing to use other tools
Hey everyone, dev here. I’ve been working on Neo Moonlight, a fork of Moonlight for Apple Vision Pro to make the experience smoother and more immersive. It includes Apple’s new low-latency streaming entitlement to improve performance and several QoL enhancements for greater immersion.
Enhancements:
-
Low‑Latency Streaming Entitlement — Implemented Apple’s entitlement for smoother, lag‑reduced streaming.
-
Spatial Audio / Stereo Toggle — Added a new top icon that lets you switch between spatial audio and stereo, ideal for gamers.
-
Rounded Corners — Rounded corners to better fit visionOS design aesthetics.
-
AV1 Codec Support — Added support for the AV1 Codec for M5 Vision Pro owners.
-
Automatic Aspect Ratio — Stream aspect ratio adjusts automatically.
-
Mouse Cursor Toggle — Added a toggle switch in settings to disable VisionOS cursor, eliminating duplicate cursors.
📲 TestFlight Beta: Try it out on your Vision Pro:
🛠️ I'm just a single dev and I try my best to make sure everything works. Initial launch after first install is a little slow as it performs a one-time setup behind the scenes. This is a beta so bug reports are always welcome. If it works good for you, please let me know that too.
If the community likes this version, I have further updates and improvements planned. Enjoy for now!

❤️ Big thanks to the original Moonlight Game Streaming team and upstream contributors for the foundation, to RikuKunMS2 for the initial visionOS port, and to tht7, shinyquagsire23 for figuring out AV1 for ALVR and other tweaks, and JFuellem for their specific contributions that helped enhance Moonlight for the Vision Pro.
VIS – Virtual Immersive Studio – is Neumann’s vision for enabling immersive audio producers to directly control Logic Pro on Mac in Apple Vision Pro. By making spatial positioning and automation intuitive, VIS unleashes a new level of speed, flexibility, and creativity.
Just bought the M5 AVP, and i noticed that there is light leakage at the extreme left and right bottom. Is it a problem with the seal size, or is it normal? I measured using the apple store app at least 3 times and got the same size. I have never used other XR headsets before so im not sure.
Hey everyone, quick question. If anyone has a dbrand Aperture they’re not using anymore, I’m interested in buying it. I’ve checked the site and unfortunately it’s sold out forever, so I figured I’d try here. If you’ve got a black one in good condition and want to part with it, let me know what you’d be willing to sell it for.
I’ve been thinking about picking up the controllers recently… but it feels stupid that for an extra $50 I can get the headset and a game….
I still haven’t gotten to setting up AVLR so it might nice to have the option of using the PSVR headset instead in case AVLR doesn’t work out for me?
Is there any resale market for headset only??
