purpose

【授業の目的】
This course emphasizes communicative application and practice. Students will speak and write for other students in small groups, share what they know or have learned with other students and their teacher, discuss current topics including science and technology, and make presentations and produce various kinds of writing.

【達成目標】
By the end of the course, students will be able to
・explain and express his/her opinions about current topics,
・communicate about topics that he/she has studied, and
・comprehend written and spoken content.

This course aims to help students to improve their skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, presentation and critical thinking. The book is also designed to help students to become more independent learners.

The topics explore the relationship between humanity and technology. Students are encouraged to think seriously about the benefits and dangers of technology for humanity and for their own lives. Each lesson explores the role of technology in different areas of life.

grading method

It is important to attend every class and actively participate in individual/group activities. 

Quizzes & Assignments: 40%

Test: 40%

Class Activities and presentations: 20%

Your teacher may adapt this based on student needs and progress.

秀　 達成目標を超えた成果を上げている　100点～90点
優　 達成目標に十分達している　　　　　89点～80点
良　 達成目標に達している　　　　　　　79点～70点
可　 達成目標に概ね達している　　　　　69点～60点
不可 達成目標に達していない　　　　　　59点以下

The teacher of each course will explain the grading system in class. Based on a maximum score of 100, grades will be awarded as follows: S (Excellent) 90 - 100 A (Very good) 80-90 B (Good) 70-80 C (Pass) 60-70 D (Fail) Below 60.

Students will be assigned an additional e-Learning assignment when necessary. This must be completed by the specified deadline.
