Wes is going to find himself in the middle of an investigation again, doing just what we’ve come to expect on Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 8, and we’re so here for it!
The major case of the week involves thieves taking hundreds of thousands of dollars, and it affects Wes directly.
Well, this is a man who will take the law into his own hands if he has to, because he’s not waiting around for the cops to do their job, even if his daughter is the sheriff!
A Burglary That Affects Weed Growers
After Wes decided to go legit, he realized just how much paperwork and government involvement there would be, and Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 7 did an excellent job of showcasing that.
It makes you wonder why anyone would want to go legit when there is so much oversight. No wonder there are so many people growing cannabis illegally in Edgewater.
However, there’s something that Wes likely hasn’t thought about, and it’s coming up in the new episode.
It’s all about taxes!
There are only two things certain in life: Death and taxes — and both of those are coming up together on Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 8.
The synopsis tells us that a burglar who leads to a man being critically injured affects the legal cannabis growers, as this involves money that the legal growers have paid in cash for their taxes.
As cannabis growers in Edgewater scramble to pay their taxes in cash, a violent robbery leaves a man in critical condition and exposes the vulnerability of the legal cannabis trade; Mickey navigates a tense meal with her stepsister.
It exposes something significant for the growers, which is why Wes is about to stick his neck out to protect them all.
He continues to operate under the same belief as when he grew everything illegally: if something affects one of them, it affects all of them.
This man is the definition of the loyal neighbor everyone needs, even if they think they don’t want him around!
Boone & Nora Go on a Date
Meanwhile, we’ll get to see more of Boone and Nora, as the two finally expressed their feelings during Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 7.
It’s only taken seven episodes for Boone to show some emotion, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else comes of this relationship.
First, we need to see their date interrupted, and it looks like it’s all linked to Wes’s storyline, as Boone tells Mickey about the $200,000 stolen in the promo.
When Sheriff Country first introduced Nora, Boone shared that she was a nurse. She should have no issue jumping in to help with the initial emergency, as images show us that at least one person has a critical injury, and the other may be dead.
Nora surely knows how to keep her cool in a situation, but she’s also sure to worry. After all, it was the job that took her first partner from her, so she may worry about what this job does to Boone now that they are officially an item.
Sharon Leone Is Back
It’s been a few episodes since we’ve had a cameo from Fire Country, so we’ll get one in this episode of Sheriff Country Season 1.
Sharon Leone is back, which makes the most sense. She is Mickey’s stepsister and Wes’s stepdaughter, so if there is an episode that focuses heavily on either of them, of course, Sharon is going to show up!
However, the synopsis says Mickey and Sharon will have a tense meal, and I have to admit that doesn’t make sense.
While the two started tense when Mickey came to Fire Country, they worked through their differences, and we’ve seen each support the other since.
So, why are things tense now? Is this linked to Wes going legit and stepping in on an investigation when he should leave it to Mickey?
That’s the only thing that makes sense, unless Sheriff Country is going to deliver another story straight out of left field, but I’m definitely here for the drama!
Sheriff Country airs on Fridays at 8/7c on CBS.
You made it to the end — and that means a lot.
