Jerm’s Favorite MVP Discs

Sorry, this post was deleted by the person who originally posted it.

Most AM's could throw this bag and score better than they'd believe. Conrad's line has some of the best MVP discs out there for most throwers, hopefully Jerm gets a lineup that's just as friendly.

Conrad's line is full of discs that work for "normal" players. It's building into a genuinely impressive lineup.

Anyone know the high speed driver he was crouching on in New Zealand? Was it a wave?

12

Iirc mostly Mayhem and Dimension, waves for pros are mostly rollers

32

He also leaned on a brown-ish looking panic. Pretty sure thats the disc he parked the playoff hole against Ezra with

He was throwing a Dimension, Panic and Mayhem a lot.

Are you talking about the disc he threw a bunch during this round? Lavender colored neutron driver? It's a Phase. White neutron driver was an Octane.

Definitely not a wave 🤣

That Hex, Crave, Terra combo is fun to bag. Would love to see what awesome lines Jerm could do with the Insanity.

Likely a roller for him unless he's throwing one of those Halloween eclipse ones

This makes me feel like I got a defective trail. It's so understable I don't see how a pro could use it for anything but a roller. Even if I put a steep hyzer on it, it turns right and never thinks about coming back left. I throw 400, but nowhere near as far as Jerm.

6

There seems to be a good bit of variance in the Trail. I was having the opposite problem. I throw 375ish and mine was not getting any flip up. I took mine to the store to compare to other ones and sure enough I found ones with a noticeably lower parting line. In my case the more OS one is flatter and the more US one has more dome, not sure that's the case across the board. I bag both and they compliment each other well.

6

I had the exact same experience. My first had a slight dome and flew as the advertised. My backup has much more dome and is wildly understable

Recent runs seem to have been extremely domey and understable.

Jerm really adjusted quick to his new bag. Doing good in New Zealand. Even has a top selling disc already.

Can someone help me understand what a hybrid mid is? Is that an approach disc or something faster than a traditional mid? Been talking to some people throwing new brands recently and they’ve talked about the in-between speeds and how wild it is to have a disc that does something but at a different speed.

Zone, Toro, etc. Slower overstable mids typically used for approaches.

Wonder what he’s throwing above these flight numbers that can replace his Boss or Destroyer slots

2

He was using a Neutron Panic down in NZ. Seemed like it was filling the Boss slot pretty well.

8

Panic is underrated. Never tried the halo boss but feels like a faster halo destroyer to me

He was throwing Octanes and Deliriums in the video with Simon. Not sure what he was throwing in NZ. But I'd bet he's actually throwing trails a LOT on everything but the wide open golf courses.

I'm still really surprised more pros aren't pushing the Pyro. It's been in my bag and my favorite disc for a long time now, especially for forehands.

2

I mean both Simon and Eagle pushed it heavily last year to the point where it was Out of Stock almost everywhere.

The lack of stock drove me away because I couldn’t get replacements anywhere last season

18

Both of these comments are true, I think. Meaning you’re right that they did get pushed to sell last year, and there’s also no push currently, other than the fission release at Halloween.

Purely speculation, but I would guess it’s a calculated decision. The way that MVP releases discs sells a ton of discs for them. And it’s honestly fun for us as buyers and throwers. The biggest complaints we tend to have (if you like MVP, anyway) are either ‘I can’t get that disc that I want because it’s unavailable. It’s unavailable because people bought a lot of them’ or ‘please, MVP, give us this mold in this plastic. It’s so good now that I’ll continue buying it, but I’d buy it even more if you did it like this.’ And that’s not a knock on anybody, I bag a lot of MVP, including the special releases if they’re molds that I like, and if I could only throw one manufacturer, it would be them.

Anyway, they’re probably getting ready to push the final version of the balance as ‘if the pyro is just a bit too overstable for you, use this.’ So backing off the pyro isn’t the worst thing to do. They’ve shown that they know how to make us buy discs, any marketing they’re doing/not doing is likely intentional.

Or they just make cool stuff and happen to run things in a way that takes care of itself, completely by happenstance. Either way, I’m buying a balance.

I agree with all of those

Who TF has a 3 fade tempo? Is that what they really listed the tempo fade as?

Good god. Someone smoking crack.

mvp lists it as 4/4/0/2.5, but i usually chart mine at 4/4/0/2

It said favorite not all he'll bag more discs without a doubt

3

Honestly such a simple but good bag. For myself I'd add an understable fairway like a fission insanity and I call it a complete bag for a beginner like me.

I have way too many discs, and often what feels like too many choices. This would be perfect.

1

I really wish one of these high profile players would push the matrix. So many people don't even try it because they started throwing mvp when Simon came over and went hard on the hex. Whatever, we all have different preferences. I just want matrix with tour stamps, cosmic, fission, etc

1

Simon was throwing the crap out of a Matrix really early on with MVP, then landed on the Hex, but then put a Cosmic Neutron Matrix bag in the bag last year. Based on what he said in this video, it might be the slot that he’s trying to fill with the Balance:
