Not one word of that statement says it was fake. Read it carefully. It ONLY says they didn't release it or give permission to use their name. Legal action likely refers to someone breaking NDA. Its not what they said, its what they didn't say. They didn't say it was fake, which they easily could have said.

Here is my coping thoughts 😂: - Someone very wealthy offered to fund Shenmue IV but YsNet were unable to take the money due to x legal reasons. - Wealthy person makes a Shenmue IV trailer ripping unused assets and therefore creating an opportunity for YsNet to sue. - YsNet sue the wealthy person for millions and use the money to fund Shenmue IV's development. - Everyone's happy 😂 On a serious note, it's such a shame that it's not real. Here's hoping 2026 brings some better news for the series.

Given it’s a video of a video… the statement above holds true. Even so, I never got the false impression someone shared a non public video intended to be public.
Even if it was, fake, stolen, unauthorized, it is still useful and interesting in many ways, the first might be the quality of the content prof this video regarding what the community of Shenmue fans is expecting the saga to be for more than 20 years now. If it is a total fake, yes net and Suzuki san will be informed now of our whishes, if it is partially true, then ysnet and co are now knowing we are saying a big yes to the spirit of the content ohmf the video. This is not a question of hope in the end, but how useful it is for the Shenmue saga to find its way to be one day fully released.
