here's a catbox of the image i'm posting right now - apologies for my workflow being a disorganized mess, i basically took half of it from someone else and i liked the result enough to use it for my realistic gens.

technically the HyperTile, EasyCache, and Self-Attention Guidance nodes are meant for machines with lower VRAM/RAM than mine but i haven't been able to get the fur looking as good when i remove/disable those nodes. the different negative prompt i use in the hiresfix step is to avoid it adding things i don't want without changing the original gen too much.

I use reForge with some code tweaks
I have a strange workflow using img2img at high denoise, because the random noise is shit and I hate it
it's a multi-step upscale process, I start at 720x960 and upscale 2x to 1440x1920
I use the aiartlab sdxl vae, way better than the default one
as for models I alternate between ntrmix 13, noobai cyberfix, or raehoshi-illust 7/8
for prompt, just the usual stuff for the positive prompt, but for the negative I generate it with the clip-interrogator plugin for A1111 using images that I like how they look and combining 2 of them into 1 negative prompt
for sampler I like the DY/CFG++ type of samplers, and for schedulers I alternate between Phi, Laplace, SGM Uniform or Beta

Mythomax is still often recommended for storytelling and RP, it's a bit outdated and only supports a max of 4096 tokens, but it is pretty good. Depends what you need really. Searching for the best use case will be a huge pain in the ass so I'd suggest just trying ones your system can run.
