How to Find API Endpoints in DevTools: A Beginner’s Guide to Inspecting APIs

When developing or exploring websites or web apps, understanding the API calls happening in the background can be a huge advantage. Whether you’re curious about how a site retrieves data, debugging a front-end issue, or building your own web application, knowing how to locate those API endpoints can be quite helpful.
And guess what? It’s way easier than you think! With your browser’s DevTools, you’ll feel like the Sherlock Holmes of APIs — minus the magnifying glass, of course.
One thing to note is, that not all browsers support Inspector tools(for instance Safari). Hence, you must use browsers that support Inspector/ Dev Tools.
Well, today, I’ll take the example of www.nseindia.com to check what API endpoints the front end hits.
Step 1: Open DevTools (A.K.A. Your Inspector’s Notebook)
Firstly, you will need to open your browser’s DevTools or Inspect Tool. To do so, just press F12 or Cmd + Option + I (for Mac Users) or Ctrl + Shift + I (for Chrome Windows users)
