good riddance to everybody who doesn't use zig because they want unused variables in their code.
I hate reading your code, and I've constructed a life for myself where I don't have to anymore.
every time you complain, I celebrate my life achievement.
@andrewrk I'm gonna fill my Zig code with
var g:i1 = 0;
g = 0;
And never use g again just to spite you.
(JK I love Zig and have never unused a variable in my life)
*shakes fist*
@andrewrk I'd like the ability to have unused variables or unmodified vars while developing, say in debug only where they can be flagged as warnings and become errors in a release build.
I find those errors interrupt my dev flow often enough to be pretty annoying.
@andrewrk I agree they should not stay in the final commit, but while still working on the code, isn’t annoying to rename/comment all of them every time you change one line somewhere else, even if temporary?
@andrewrk Eh, as long as the tab indentation stays allowed, I can live with few extra variable discards... :D
@andrewrk unused variables are already highlighted by IDE
