Shrimp and Apple Allergies

Does anyone know if shrimp and apple allergies have any relations?

I had shrimp allergy before and was perfectly fine with apples, used to eat apple daily until recently I noticed apple was causing some allergic reactions. (Rash, itching etc.) But then I somehow decided to try shrimp and I was perfectly fine. No allergic reactions, as if I never had shrimp allergy before. Is this possible? Can it be switched or crossover like this? 🤔

Allergies don’t switch, but new ones can start at any time and it is possible to grow out of them. Have you tried baked apple? Some who can’t have it raw can tolerate it baked.

Havent tried baked apple but I’ll definitely give it a try. Probably just a coincidence but the timing of it was strange. As soon as I developed one and other one went away so lol

It sounds like you've developed an additional allergy. Seconding the poster above to see if you can eat cooked apple. Sometimes even just removing the peel is enough, if it's a pollen allergy and not a true food allergy.

Unfortunately, I tried it after removing the peel and still had same reactions

Ah I'm sorry.

Agreed on Apple - I haven’t heard of that being an allergen but it would not seem related to shrimp

That was risky to try shrimp. When was the last time you ate it and had a reaction?
