I returned to UK spellings because I moved to the UK for part of primary/elementary school, so I like them better. Here’s some info from my grandfather’s DNA test. His (and my) ancestors built this country. I’m more American than you’ll ever be and that tears you up inside.
important to *realize* like 80% or more of these big anonymous right-wing accounts are run by foreigners

I tend to spell "gray" as "grey," so I won't blame my fellow patriots when they deport me to some God forsaken land where I belong.

Using the proper English that Americans used two centuries ago because you're a HERITAGE AMERICAN.

I use “honour”, “realise”, “neighbour”, and “colour” to name a few. It’s simply aristocratic and mogs the third worlders, hence why I do it. I don’t spell “center” as “centre” though. “Centre” just looks wrong.

I use UK spellings for some things just because it's how my greatgrandparents taught me to spell them. In a few cases I do it just because I like it better. The type of people to call "foreigner" on an account like yours are largely the same who think wetbacks are "patriots".

Surely the years you’ve spent in America since then with would have corrected this. You HAVE spent years in America since “primary school,” right?

I’m so sick of the fucking settler DNA Olympics. Guess what, I’m also descended from the original English settlers in North America and I think your narrow definition of who is and is not an American is fucking idiotic

The ethnic resentment burns in their veins. They dont care about policy or helping Americans. Everything is about their egos not being able to handle the glory of America. A sad existence

That’s a pretty ass take ngl. British spellings are ugly and wrong. Repent and be saved.

American spellings were partly created to divide themselves from the British. Given the current circumstances it would seem preferable to invoke Anglo heritage than to humour the idea of America as nought but a civic culture. The foreigner is not American by right of spelling.

What's hilarious is that I live in the UK, and yet I prefer Oxford spelling. So I'd write "realize" and apparently that makes me more American.
