People get 9s at regular state schools anyways there is actually just no point it is a waste of money
Okay before anyone attacks me hear me out 😂
I did a 2015 past paper and felt like a genius. Did a 2023 one and suddenly i can’t read
Like why are the questions written like riddles now?
Explain how the moon affects global warming using a model of a toaster or some nonsense
My parents keep saying we had it just as hard and i’m like bro no you didn’t, you had nokias and vibes.
Curious tho does anyone agree or am i actually just dumb?
So obviously we had to do one of two inspector calls questions, and the poetry. Think I did fine on the poetry but not sure how I did on IAC. The question choice was How does Priestley present the poor through EVA and the second was How does Priestley present men as irresponsible. Now keep in mind I was revising responsibility a lot and that’s what I wanted to do but in the heat of the moment I lowk forgot that and did the eva question instead and then halfway through realised I was very much waffling… I honestly forgot what I wrote but basically had the same point in each paragraph that their treatment is out of their control and their worth is dictated by the upper class. Something like that and I wrote 4 pages. I didn’t structure it a lot just wrote down my ideas. Do you think I’ll be fine?? I wish I did the other question! PS we had the table unseen poetry question…🥀
So my dad is trying to book a hoilday begins of june 2027 but that's y11 for me and im try and explain but he's not listening and I got no clue what to do
Is there anything I can do Legally. Someone help
Update: my nana ( my dad's mum ) has talked him out of it. Thank god cuz I was going to carsh out
I wasn’t sure where to post this but I figured there must be at least 1 other person feeling this way. For some bg info. I am 15F and in year 11 right now. Normally i am a grade 9 student across most of my subjects. I take my education very seriously because I want to get into med school. I would never waste my time playing games or scrolling, hand on heart my screen time is never above 30 mins. But over the last week or so, that motivation started to slip. I stopped revising for mocks and now I don’t care if I fail at this point. I feel so lonely and unmotivated and I just want to sleep. it got so bad that I started sh again and now I just feel like shit.
I really need to get my shit together becaue I don’t want to fail my GCSE’s, they’re really important to me but I guenuinely couldn’t care less. Help me.
Any year 12s left here?? A levels is gonna fry me alive so that’s fun! Also its really boring in the a level sub so I’m just wandering around here lmao
It’s gotten to the point now that it feels like 20% of the posts I see on my home page is just a new person with all 9’s doing another AMA and it’s demotivating I feel personally as well as overdone at this point
Obviously I doubt this is the intention of the people making these posts but it’s how it’s been affecting me personally
i’m terrified rn, i’ve just picked 4 options i don’t want to at all and i really wanna switch it. Please tell me this is possible.
I’m tired of seeing all the “I got 999999999999999999999999999999 in my exams!” So here’s a bit of a more realistic grade for y’all to see, ask away and I’ll tell you my amazinf answers
so i am doing triple sciences, french and english lang this year for igcse's and i am struggling to retain infomation for my sciences. i got 7,7,8 for my mocs in phys, chem, bio but i am forgetting everything after, i just cram before. i have tried past papers and most methods to memorise but the infomation just does not stay and i was wondering how to memorise it all to get nines and what others have done
hes so fine 💔 and what makes it worse is its a girls school so literally everyones simping over the poor guy who js happens to be reasonably fine asf
anyone else relates?
edit: so apparently ppl on reddit js dont have a sense of humour and its not allowed to have harmless thoughts to think someone looks fine when I can also think abt that of anyone in public?

Hi everyone! Everybody I know is making a large deal about my exams this year, however the general consensus online (from what I've seen) is that nothing matters until Year 11. Do I need anything more than a pass as of now, and will this have any real impact on me at all in the future? Thanks.
literally takes me 1hr 30 mins to write essays worth 30 marks 💔 even with additional help
Bio - 9
Chem - 9 (91/100 !!!!)
Physics - 9
Spanish 9 i cooked so hard oml
English lang - 8
Maths - 8- scraped it by like 2 marks
RS - 8 also scraped
Geo - 8 so close to a 9 but the paper 1 timing is so hard
Art - 7 i really do not care this subject is the bane of my existance
English lit - 7 cooked R&J but frankenstein cooked me
I'm honestly really happy with these - my art teacher predicted me a 9 cause i just didn't finish the exam piece. I did minimal revision so I don't really have any complaints...
Today my English teacher told us that lit paper 1 and most of other papers will be marked by AI (including both question 5s for language). In my opinion it just defeats the whole purpose of having mocks and getting the results realistic to GCSEs. This is all happening because recently my school has joined an academy and so far it’s just ruining the whole school, thankfully i’m year 11 so i’m leaving next year but it just makes me angry how the school trust thinks it’s acceptable to give human tasks to AI especially in subjects like english. This feels like AI is taking away human jobs and teachers workload should just be reduced instead of giving it to AI, and it also is just downright disrespectful to the students. Is anyone else’s school doing this or is it just mine thats becoming such a shit hole?

Hi all,
What do all the less able students do after gcse qualification/studying wise ?
All students who aren't predicted to do well at gcse what are you looking to do next ?
Apprenticeship ?
Vocational course ?
Retake ?
A different type of level 2 qualification ?
I swear half of this subreddit is just ragebaiters.
Hi, so I got an interview at a 6th form this Wednesday. I thought it was going to be in the New Year. So, I was going to give them my December mock results, but no. They responded after one week and gave me an interview this Wednesday. I don’t have any yr10 mock grades and my predicted are worse than what I actually get. So, wtf do I tell them?
Maths - 7
English Lit - 9
English Language - 9
Biology - 6
Physics - 7
chemistry - 6
engineering - 7
history - 8
spanish - 5
cs - 6
my parents were surprisingly chill (at least for them) I still got called dumb but I survived
paper 2s are my biggest opps, without them I would’ve gotten 7s in all my sciences, a 9 in history and a 9 in cs
didn’t revise icl, I mean I did but definitely not as much as I should have, but still improvement from year 10 ig and I’m proud of them
Spanish grade boundaries were insane it was 90% for a 9, engineering was 88% for a 9, i got 77%. Cs a 9 was also 88%.
is all 9s still in reach if I lock in now and go all in with hardcore revision, I’m pretty sure I’ve got another set of mocks in February so I’ll see how those go.
Don't use Medly
Hi! Thought I'd do this for the first 12 days of December! How it works is each day I ask you all what should describe GCSEs on each day of Christmas, with the aim of having a complete song but 'GCSE Edition'. The top comment after 24 hours will be that day's line!
So, what will today's be: On the first day of Christmas, my teacher gave to me...
I have my exams in 2 months and I need a timetable can somebody help meee!
I have my school till 5:30 pm (I know this might be the dumbest school in the whole world)
I have to wake up mrng at 5 am (this absolutely made things much more worse)
I have 7 subjects and they are:
Economics Computer science Maths 0580 Co-ordinateed science Business studies Hindi as second language English as second language
Can some body please help make a timetable for these 2 months so that I could achieve A*'s
Does anyone actually manage to write 3 comaparative paragraphs for the poetry questions? Im convinced they're bots
I have my re themes mock (ABDE) on friday and even though i think re is easy ive never got above a 6 and its like one of my worst subjects... in the year 10 mock i was one mark off a 7 even tho i lit thought i ate and filled ALL THE LINES AND ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS and yeah idk. Idk how i flopped. In our recent assessment a 6 marker and a 12 marker i got 16/18 (lost 2 marks on the 12 marker) but the grades didnt change so still got a 6. anyway themes are a little easier so hoping i can get like 7 and above but like what can i even do
there aren't enough memes on this sub - last time i saw was that dt guy who made a portfolio of memes and no others i can remember in the past week
we are too locked in for gcses it is impacting our humour...
Recently I’ve come down with a horrible cold and my GCSE Drama performance is in 2 days. The cold has affected stuff like my energy and voice and I’m worried it will greatly impact the quality of my performance. My drama teacher has pushed back the performance date 5 weeks from when it was originally supposed to take place so I’m worried that they can’t push it back for much longer. What do I do? (Board: AQA)
So, I'm very much a maths guy. I will definitely take maths and further maths A levels, and probably physics. Problem is, I have already covered all of the pure maths aspect of the maths A level, and I'm almost certain I'll be able to keep up with everything pretty easily. So, I want to choose a fourth A level, because I know I can, and four is common at the school I want to go to (Ruthin). Problem is, I'm not sure what else to pick. I'm not good at extended writing, and I want my choice to be something I am interested in enough for an A level. Considering psychology atm, any thoughts?
or write them on a pad if ur not on ur period idk
basically im currently in mock season and i did something really bad and left ALL my revision until the night before so I turned out to be really stressed out and now I think i got like really average grades and this is because I left all my revision the night before which i know is really dumb but is it still possible for me to get 8s and 9s in the real thing because i got 7s and 8s in my yr10 mocks and for both sets of mocks I didnt Do proper consistent revision ( for the subjects i properly revised for i ended up getting an 8 in both and a 9 in one of them)
Maths - Maths is a facilitating subject, so I can do lots of things with it. I also enjoy it a lot.
Spanish - I am very good at languages, and I want to become a languages teacher when I grow up. It's also the only one my local university offers that I can do.
German - I am very good at languages, and I want to become a languages teacher when I grow up. I wanna go to Oxbridge to do a degree, because if I'm paying that exorbitant tuition, then go big or go home!
Drama - Enjoyment over employment 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
Is it possible that in the paper for the essay response to Macbeth- they could ask you about Banquo or Macduff and how Shakespeare presents them. Just because I can’t find many strong quotes for them and my main quotes are for Macbeth and LM?
I do but sometimes they’re out of earshot as I leave so i don’t bother then.
edit: this is reaching people in other countries too so feel free to say if it’s common where you are from!
Now this is isnt one of the usual rants where its a person who actual isnt strong at maths i think maths its fairely simply and we are going to ignore the fact i am on a 6, thats a whole different problem in itself, i do a levels maths and i find the simplicity so compelling and depth of each question, symbol and equation fun, however gcse maths edexcel and further maths aqa does not reward creativity and nor does it touch fundamentals of calculus maths or anything to keep my adhd insterested to comprehend it.This is just a skill issue i am well aware but the fact that theres a strict mark scheme for maths, which wont reward full marks even if you get it right rlly disturbs me, at gcse(FM)level i often struggle with things like triple simultaneous equations so i like using gaussain methods which is more commonly used at a level further maths but the problem at hand is the fact that i could compromise loosing marks because my brain cant comprehend the standard working out, even if i get the right answer which i think is obsurd as gcse is supposed to be the foundational knowledge and finding out your own equations identities and methods allow new mathmetications to be born but with limition such as strict mark scheme this simple isnt encouraged therefore harder to achieve.which in my opinion is counter-inuitive for newer generations like myself( also i hate the fact im not on a 9)
