Hey Soyim, amateur glotto-chronologist here, one suggestion I would highly suggest is adding the phonetic alphabet sounds next to them as to ensure we have a standard of pronunciation, as with some of these words, I'm a bit perplexed as to how we should pronounce them, do J's follow Slavic pronunciation like ya, or do we say "zhuh" like Jelly. I think the addition of phonetic letters would do a great job ensuring that we have a standardized dialect from the get go.

what do you think of the verb system i made for another germanic coonlang with thematic vowels
"e" theme:
present-participle & present tense: "e"
past-participle/passive voice & past tense: "ee" (pronounced like in english)
examples: "etele geg"=I'm laughing, "etele geeg"=I laughed "de geeg"=the one who was laughed at
theme "o": same thing but with o, oo
examples: "peeso moro"=killing floor, "mooro gai"=dead person
plus prefixes because i like them, such as "raz-"=scatter/distribute, "razmoro"=to massacre

Vowels
a /a/, e /e/, i /i/, o /o/, u /u/
Umlaut Vowels:
ä /æ/, ö /ø/, ü /y/
Umlaut Rules:
Whenever a historical /i/ or /j/ would follow, the root vowel shifts:
Base ➡ Umlaut
a ➡ ä
o ➡ ö
u ➡ ü
Diphthongs:
ai /aj/, ei /ej/, oi /oj/, au /au̯/, äu /æu̯/ (umlauted diphthong)
Diminutives (-itte) trigger umlaut:
a ➡ ä before -itte
o ➡ ö before -itte
u ➡ ü before -itte
Example: xon ("house") ➡ xönitte ("little house")
Augmentative (-igge) doesn't trigger umlaut:
Because the -igge suffix starts with a back vowel and consonant, it blocks fronting.
Example: xon ➡ xonigge ("big house", no umlaut)
Consonants
Consonants:

⚠ New ambiguities caused by (s)
◾ 1. Is (s) always pronounced? / phonological rules?
If a noun ends in s, z, x, does (s) become:
-es
-is
or just -s?
Examples that need rules:
azuf (“brimstone”) → plural: azuf(s) → ??? (azufs? azufis?)
xhit (“it”) → plural: ??? (xhits? xhitis?)
Without rules, fluent use is uncertain.
▶ №14201331[Quote]

2. Interaction with diminutive & augmentative
Which comes first?
little houses → xönitte(s) or xon(s)itte
big houses → xonigge(s) or xon(s)igge
The language needs to decide ordering:
root + diminutive/augmentative + plural
or
root + plural + diminutive/augmentative
Because different orders imply different meanings:
xönitte(s) = small houses
xon(s)itte = a plural group treated as a singular little cluster (very different meaning)

gpt:
Finalized plural rule (based on what you said)
Word ends in…Add…Example
consonant-isxon → xonis (“houses”)
vowel-spota → potas (“bellies”)
This applies whether the final consonant is s / z / x / t / k / r / etc.
So there is no special case for s / z / x endings — good, it keeps morphology simple.
Examples across endings
SingularPlural
pers (person)persis (people)
xon (house)xonis
futir (bird)futiris
gemil (blue) — if used as a noungemilis
xhit (it) — theoretical nounxhitis
day➡ärenärens
nüs (night)nüsis
pota (belly)potas
ia (place)ias
gere (hypothetical noun)geres
So now plural is fully defined and unambiguous.

❗ Next: How plural interacts with diminutive / augmentative suffixes
We need to lock this down because order of suffixes changes meaning.
The two meanings are:
MeaningStructureExample
Many small housesxon → xönitte → xönittes
A group of houses treated as one small thingxon → xonis → xonisisitte
The second meaning is niche and weird (like German “Häuschenchenchen”).
So:
For normal clarity, it is best to choose the first rule:
> root + -itte or -igge + plural
Unless you object, I will finalize it as:
NOUN + (DIMINUTIVE/augmentative) + (plural)
Example set:
xönitte → little house
xönitte(s) → little houses
xonigge → big house
xonigge(s) → big houses
State of the language after this update
Plural is now complete.

▶ №14201750[Quote]>>14201764

▶ №14201770[Quote]
>>14201707cant we combine it
▶ №14201771[Quote]
>>14201699gpt:
Yeah — that’s actually a real thing conlangs do, and it’s a power move if the goal is to make NuSoyish deeper, more expandable, and more consistent over time.
Right now, NuSoyish is working like Old English / Proto-Germanic:
simple root vocabulary
words built piece-by-piece
straightforward sound rules
But English becomes huge and expressive because it later absorbed a second vocabulary layer from Latin/French/Greek — giving us:
GermanicLatin-derived
helpassist
askrequest
riseascend
kinglyroyal
freedomliberty
brotherhoodfraternity
So if NuSoyish creates a “Soy-Latin” (a proto source language), it would give:
prestige / scholarly vocabulary
science / technology / philosophy words
multi-syllable words that sound intentional rather than random
a way to expand without ruining the sound rules of base Soyish
How it would work
Soy-Latin would be the ancestor language, whose root forms get reshaped when borrowed into NuSoyish.
Example (fake demo):
Soy-Latin: carminare = to burn
Soyish root: karm = fire (simplified borrowing)
Then NuSoyish derives new words from the Soy-Latin stem carmin- when needed:
Word typeNuSoyish formMeaning
root nounkarmfire
adjectivekarmegfiery / passionate
verbnuw-carminto burn / to ignite
agent nouncarminerburner / flame-wielder
tool nouncarminoxlighter / torch
abstractcarminiacombustion / burning phenomenon
So instead of inventing a random new word every time, everything derives from the same stem.
Why this is smart
It gives NuSoyish:
internal history (world-building effect)
consistency (words fit together instead of sounding random)
expansion without chaos
technical vocabulary without English influence
You could even decide:
Soy-Latin appears in science, magic, religion, academia, etc.
NuSoyish appears in everyday life
Exactly like English →:
“blood” (Germanic)
“vascular / circulation / hematology” (Latin/Greek)
Example categories Soy-Latin could enable
FieldNeed
biology/anatomymuscle, organism, respiration
physicsmotion, gravity, energy
mathematicsfunction, vector, magnitude
philosophytruth, reality, virtue
governmentsenate, decree, supreme
religionsacred, divine, spirit
Without Soy-Latin, these would require hundreds of new unrelated roots.
How to build Soy-Latin efficiently
You don’t need 2000 words — just a few dozen root clusters.
Examples of proto-roots you could define:
Proto rootCore meaningFields it could expand into
vok-speak / voicevocal, invoke, provoke, advocate
grav-heavy / weightgravity, grave, aggravate
sol-sun / lightsolar, desolate, consolidate
viv-liferevive, survive, vivid
etc.
Then map them to NuSoyish by sound-law rules.
What to decide before launching Soy-Latin
You only need to settle 3 design questions:
1️⃣ Sound structure:
Should Soy-Latin sound:
smooth Latin (solare, vivare, dominus)
or
harsher Germanic/Slavic (solanik, vrevan, domnar)?
2️⃣ Relation to NuSoyish:
When borrowed, should Soy-Latin stems:
change into Soyish pronunciations
or stay mostly intact for prestige effect?
3️⃣ Morphology:
Will Soy-Latin use:
roots + suffixes only, or
conjugations/declensions (optional)?
If you want to try it
The easiest way to start Soy-Latin is:
Pick 20–30 proto-roots that cover very broad concepts
(life / death / time / energy / mind / hand / shape / matter / motion / etc.)
Define how they transform when borrowed into regular NuSoyish
Start generating derivatives only when needed (not all at once)
If you want, I can generate:
a Proto Soy-Latin phonology
30–50 roots with glosses
automatic borrowing → Soyish sound-change rules
example derived vocabulary
Just tell me what vibe you want for Soy-Latin:
A) Roman / clerical / academic (solar, vivare, magnus)
B) Greek-ish / scientific (thermos, logos, psyche)
C) Old Norse / Gothic-ish (soljan, vigr, magnath)
D) Completely original new aesthetic
or E) A mashup of several (my recommendation — unique but usable).
Reply with A / B / C / D / E and I’ll generate the starting Proto Soy-Latin table.
