Molly McCann couldn’t even bring herself to face-off with opponent Ebonie Cotton today as the 1-0 boxer suffered a comical wardrobe malfunction.

‘Meatball Molly’ made the transition from UFC star to boxing earlier this year under the guidance of Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom stable. She made her debut in August, and is back out tomorrow night on the undercard of Ben Whittaker’s debut on the promotion against Benjamin Gavazi.

Now, she faces fellow 1-0 Brit Cotton, who is coming into the sport from a crossfit and dancing background. McCann was a national champion in her youth before becoming a massive star in the octagon before retiring last year.

Ebonie Cotton and Molly McCann face-off turns comical with wardrobe slip

Throughout fight week, there has been a brooding intensity between Molly McCann and Ebonie Cotton, who come from very different backgrounds. Both are confident of a finish, but it’s ‘Meatball’ who brings considerably more pedigree to proceedings.

The first face-off at yesterday’s press conference after an initial meeting for a head-to-head interview with Adam Smith was feisty. But the mood changed drastically today as Cotton went all out with her outfit for weigh-ins.

After the pair tipped the scales a pound apart at 121.9lb and 120.9lb, they came head-to-head. McCann wore a sports bra and tracksuit, looking all business for the encounter, while Cotton aimed to make headlines with an orange lingerie set.

However, viewers ended up getting a bit more than they bargained for as the Brit’s nipple began to protrude just above the edge of her bra. McCann giggled and insisted she couldn’t face off with her rival as a result.

Cotton didn’t seem all too fussed, laughing about the incident after the fact in a brief interview with IFL TV. “Why not weigh in like I did?” She asked.

“I am 100 per cent me, and I wanted to weigh in like that because I look good, look great, and why wouldn’t I want to show it off? Live on DAZN my nipple was out, you’re welcome world.”

Jake Paul has drafted in some huge heavyweight help ahead of his super fight against former champion Anthony Joshua.

A few weeks ago it was shockingly announced that internet sensation turned boxer Jake Paul would take on former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on December 19.

The news came after his controversially scheduled fight against Gervonta Davis was canceled because of an investigation into recent allegations against ‘Tank’.

And ahead of their clash, the two faced off for the first time last week in the first pre-fight press conference, which showcased the huge size difference between the two.

Paul welcomes huge heavyweights into his Anthony Joshua fight camp

Despite the fact that a win for ‘The Problem Child’ would be the biggest upset in the history of boxing, he is being backed to beat the former heavyweight champion by his former rival, Nate Diaz, who has placed a huge bet on the fight.

But for that to happen, his preparation will need to be the best it’s ever been, and to get him ready for the fight, the 28-year-old has welcomed some behemoths into his camp.

One heavyweight Paul has been sparring ahead of the super fight is Jared Anderson, who holds a professional record of 18-1.

In fact, Anderson has been linked to a final IBF heavyweight eliminator fight, with the winner of the fight being the mandatory challenger for pound-for-pound number one, Oleksandr Usyk.

Not only that, but Anderson’s rumored opponent for the eliminator fight, Frank Sanchez, has also been spotted in Paul’s camp ahead of the December 19 show.

British heavyweight champion Lawrence Okolie has also been giving Paul some sparring rounds to help him in preparation.

Could Jake Paul really pull off the upset?

Throughout his boxing career, the controversial figure has continued to receive criticism for his involvement in the sport, but he has somewhat begun to prove himself with his performances.

Canelo Alvarez revealed that a comment from ‘inspirational’ UFC 323 star gave him goosebumps

One of boxing’s best is a fan of a fighter set to make the walk on UFC 323’s main card.

Mexico has a rich combat sports history, and leading the country’s charge in the ring across recent years has been the legendary Canelo Alvarez.

The first fighter in history to become the undisputed super middleweight champion has added to his nation’s boxing success, following in the footsteps of legends like Julio Cesar Chavez and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Mexico is also not without a history-maker in mixed martial arts. Brandon Moreno became the first Mexican-born champion in the UFC when he submitted Deiveson Figueiredo in 2021, and that championship success paved the way for ‘The Assassin Baby’ to link up with one of his heroes.

Canelo Alvarez got ‘goosebumps’ from Brandon Moreno comment before teaching him the perfect body shot

Moreno beat Figueiredo at UFC 263 to become flyweight champion for the first time. After Alvarez took notice of that triumph, it did not take long for the pair to interact. The UFC star received an invite to train with his fellow countryman at boxing coach Eddy Reynoso’s gym in San Diego.

Moreno’s meeting with Alvarez was recorded and released in a video on the UFC’s YouTube channel, during which the boxing legend laid heavy praise on ‘The Assassin Baby’ before giving him a masterclass in throwing punches to the body.

“People like him are an inspiration for everyone,” Alvarez said of Moreno. “Even for me, because look at his story and what he dreamed of and visualized.

“He did it being the UFC champion. If I’m not mistaken, he’s the first from Mexico.

“So that’s inspiration and motivation for everyone that in life, everything can happen,” he added.

“I become a fan of that kind of person.”

While in conversation with Moreno, Alvarez later recalled seeing the then-UFC champion once discussing him in a social media video.

“I saw on TikTok that you were talking about me,” Alvarez said.

“I got goosebumps.

“That’s what we’re here for — to support each other.”

Brandon Moreno returns on UFC 323 card that is headlined by two title fights

Moreno could find himself on the cusp of fighting for the flyweight title again if he wins at UFC 323, where his division’s gold will also be on the line.

After the two-time king at 125 pounds looks to extend his winning streak to three against the 17-1 Tatsuro Taira, Alexandre Pantoja will be challenged by Joshua Van in the first of two championship contests at UFC 323.

The Brazilian’s co-main event will set the stage for Merab Dvalishvili’s record-breaking defense against Petr Yan. The Georgian will become the first UFC titleholder to defend a belt four times in a single calendar year.

Anthony Joshua’s former opponent outdid Brock Lesnar by knocking out UFC legend in less than two minutes

On this day in 2021, a former UFC heavyweight champion competed for the final time.

Anthony Joshua was confirmed to be facing Jake Paul in his return to the ring on December 19 in Miami earlier this month.

While the former two-time heavyweight champion’s last win came against Francis Ngannou, he’s been competing against top names and mandatory challengers ever since he knocked out Wladimir Klitschko in 2017.

Paul seems to think he can expose flaws in Joshua’s game when they meet on Netflix, but many far more accomplished boxers have tried and failed to do this.

One of the several opponents who tried to take his heavyweight belts from him may have come up short against ‘AJ’, but a bounce back win saw him make quick work of an MMA legend.

Kubrat Pulev knocked out Frank Mir in less than two minutes at Triad Combat

Eight years before preparing to face Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua was lined up to face Kubrat Pulev in front of a record-breaking crowd for the largest indoor boxing attendance.

An injury to Pulev led to the fight eventually taking place three years later in front of up to 1,000 people due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pulev looked to exploit some of the weaknesses that Paul will attempt to take advantage of on December 19, but the defending champion was too much for him, stopping his challenger in the ninth round.

After suffering his second loss, with his first coming to Wladimir Klitschko in 2014, Pulev took a break from the sport, though he did compete in a different ruleset less than a year later.

Triad Combat pitted MMA fighters against boxers in a triangular ring with two-minute boxing rounds.

On November 27 of 2011, they hosted their first event, featuring the likes of Mike Perry and a live performance from Metallica.

The main event saw Pulev stop former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in the first round to become the promotion’s inaugural champion.

Mir, who suffered quicker knockout losses in his MMA career, famously became the first man to beat Brock Lesnar before losing the rematch at UFC 100 via a TKO in the second round.

Fans were concerned by Frank Mir’s plans to return to MMA earlier this year

Despite not fighting since his loss to Kubrat Pulev at Triad Combat 1, Frank Mir was announced to be making his return to MMA earlier this year.

The submission specialist’s last fight in MMA saw him secure a unanimous decision win over Roy Nelson at Bellator 231 in October of 2019 before his contract expired.

Mir’s planned return with the Global Fight League, or GFL, was cancelled in March after he announced that he’d undergone emergency surgery due to a spine injury.

The 46-year-old said that he’d be focusing on his recovery in order to come back mentally and physically stronger than before.
