I have an update regarding UNDERTALE Yellow's handling of a predator on their team. I have suspected this for a while now and tried to make it clear last time, but with it confirmed for me, please do not talk to any of the UNDERTALE Yellow members about this issue. Most of them were not complicit in keeping a predator around.
Ryla, also known as Rye, Rai and Rylarolls, was a pixel artist on UNDERTALE Yellow with her reach going as far as designing Martlet, creating a squirrel character, and contributing many sprites. Her footprint is deep within UNDERTALE Yellow. Because of this, the victims acknowledge how much of an undertaking it would be to remove all instances of Ryla's influence. This was never asked for, but I want to make this clear from the start.
On July 11th, a victim named Off had come out about being groomed by Ryla. Large parts of this story included many times where Off had tried to contact UNDERTALE Yellow's leaders and moderation, only to be written off and Ryla's actions downplayed. I became aware of the situation a few months before Off came out about her experiences. I did not want to out the victim, hence my silence on the matter until Off made her own thread on Twitter. I linked her thread on my Bluesky and urged people to please listen to her story. The following days led to many more victims of Ryla coming out to me, urging me to add them to my thread to strengthen solidarity with Off. One of these people was my partner, Zaid, who is a member of Team Switched. There are multiple others, but one uniting factor is that many of these victims attest to Ryla lying about her age, claiming to be 20 and married. In reality, she was 16. While one would see this and think it is an unfortunate case of a minor entering spaces they do not belong, this is only a part of the story. She knowingly sent photos of her ass to multiple children in the server, some as young as 13, to the point another young user told her she cannot be doing that willy nilly as a married person.
Off's attempts at reaching out begins around 2019. At this point, she had not transitioned, and was banned from the public UNDERTALE Yellow Discord. She had realized how horrible Ryla treated her in private, and reached out to community moderator, Raymes, on an alternate account. Raymes replied saying that there will be an investigation. However, this investigation was surface-level and (likely) kept from many members of the UNDERTALE Yellow developers. The only people I have confirmed knew about the investigation is Raymes and MasterSword. Raymes later returned to Off, said that they came to the conclusion the allegations were false. Ryla left for unknown but unrelated reasons, but was still heavily credited at the time. Raymes, for further context, is incredibly close friends with MasterSword.
In 2023, there was another attempt at contact, this time with MasterSword. Off reached out to another lead on UNDERTALE Yellow, who I will call "E," to ask for MasterSword's email, to which they eventually gave it. Off tried to reach out to MasterSword, only to be ignored. She tried to contact E about it, only to be told they had a medical issue and didn't want bothered. Off asked a follow up question, and their messages were turned off immediately after. A week later, their messages stayed off. A year later she reached out to an old friend, who I will call "A," to get in contact in her stead. A was also affected by Ryla. The email showed proof of Ryla admitting to her actions, downplaying it, deflecting blame onto A, and much more. While I cannot show the whole email, I can highlight MasterSword's reply. The reply is distressing:
Hello.
First off, I'm very sorry to hear you and others were exploited at such a young age. That should never happen.
About Rye:
She was removed from the team in 2019 and her actions have never been supported or defended. These allegations came to our attention a few years ago and were taken very seriously within DMs. However, after the mods and a few teammates investigated, it was let go. That is why she remained credited for her work.
I hope the parties involved can talk this out amongst themselves and heal.
This is disgusting for several reasons. For one, her actions were consistently defended and supported. After this email, A had recieved messages from Ryla's at the time parter, who I will call "B," claiming that A is lying. Not only that, but Off was sent a message from a burner account demanding that she stop talking about the situation, to stop talking to A about it, and at the end finished with "you'll be a good girl, won't you?" This is heavily referencing how Ryla would call Off a "good boy" in messages, and we are confident this was sent by Ryla herself. Off was also told by Raymes the allegations are false. With this in mind, knowing the extent of her actions, it is incredibly tone-deaf and insulting to insinuate that the predator and her victim should "talk things out." This concerning communication eventually pushed Off to open up about her experiences on Twitter a year later, to which A immediately informed me about. I knew of this for a few months prior to July, and was actively disgusted, so I jumped at the chance to support Off. I was not friends with her yet. The idea was that finally, Ryla's credit would be removed from the game and that an apology would be given. I felt I was the only person capable of calling out Ryla and UNDERTALE Yellow's behavior, as I had not been involved in the fandom space until 2020. I was the only person capable of calling this out without risk of threats and blackmail. I felt it was my duty to do this for the protection of others.
This caused public outcry and many UNDERTALE Yellow developers were hearing of Ryla's actions for the first time. Others were well aware and frustrated. This is when I came in with other victims who came out to me and wanted to support Off. Then, silently, a patch was pushed to remove Ryla's credit. However, many comments on the GameJolt page of the update described the situation as "drama" and disregarded Off entirely. This actively disgusted me, but I recognized not everyone would listen to victims and it is not always worth engaging. Important to note, B soon realized they were manipulated and lied to. B has since broken up with Ryla.
In private, MasterSword reached out to another user, who I will call "C." C had been very supportive of the victims, and was notable in the community. In private messages, MasterSword expressed frustration that nobody came to him sooner and resulted in going public immediately. This is a lie, as I have covered. Furthermore, when questioned about further action and an apology, MasterSword claimed that he has done all he could and he will not apologize. This pissed me off, to be blunt. However, the credit removal was our goal, so we kept silent. At this point, I had befriended Off and intended to do what I can to support her.
Then, November rolls around. Many victims of a popular UNDERTALE and Deltarune streamer, Shayy, come out with their stories of being sexually assaulted, orbited until they were of legal age, and grooming. A lot of the behaviors exhibited by Shayy strongly resemble a lot of the behavior done to Off by Ryla, and Off was very triggered by this. I also recalled that at the time, Shayy never commented on or shared Off's story. Shayy was friends with A, and A had in private told them about Off's story. Shayy dismissed it entirely. I was told this by Off. I felt like it was important to talk about this, considering how similar Ryla and Shayy's behaviors were. I made a statement in support of the victims and detailed my upset with Shayy in regards to their dismissal of Off's story.
A friend, who I will call "D," reached out to me a few weeks later. D told me they were decent friends with someone on UNDERTALE Yellow, who I will call "F," and wanted to try and make ammends between the team and Off regarding the situation. I was skeptical of where it would go, but I agreed. Any resolution is better than none. So, I introduced Off to D, and we caught D up on the whole story. They knew of bits and pieces, but now they know the whole story. D communicated with F about everything, and F went through the UNDERTALE Yellow development server and the now private public server for logs to piece together what happened.
Suddenly, I was reached out to by MasterSword. The conversation started odd, but I was told MasterSword was blunt in messages and I attempted to keep an open mind. He asked for my issues with the the team and him, and as such I laid out everything. MasterSword replied with his own clarifications, and at first I appreciated it! And then I noticed how he weaponized his religion to defend Raymes for sticking close to Ryla, preaching "forgiveness." I do not need to explain how disgusting this is, when Ryla has been actively threatening Off into silence. She has not changed. For full transparency, I will show these logs with relevant people anonymized for their safety.

I shared this with D and Off. D wanted to be charitable, which I thank them for. It's a nice breath of fresh air to my own negativity when it comes to these situations. Off was immediately disgusted and upset with MasterSword's response. As we sat and thought about the response, we came to understand that the response seemed less of taking responsibility and more pushing the blame off of MasterSword. He continues to paint the picture that he had little involvement, that he was more or less invisible. I fully understand that UNDERTALE Yellow was a first time project and majority of its team was children, however this does not excuse the last two years of behavior. MasterSword, to my knowledge, was about 20 years old around the time when UNDERTALE Yellow began development. For all intents and purposes, MasterSword attempts to make himself distant from the team despite being the literal leader in order to minimize his role. Something I've noticed is for those who are complicit in abuse by turning the other way, they will remain mum on a situation until confronted. They will play dumb and deflect as much as possible, often trying to avoid saying anything definitive. The moment they let slip "I just didn't know," their whole argument falls apart. I've seen this with Punkitt, who claims to not know anything about Floraverse, a genuine zoopedo cult, and Samael, the creator of So Sorry's association with it. She literally admitted she was best friends with Samael's partner but claimed to know nothing about Floraverse, and refused to platform victims because of her mental health. This is a pattern of behavior used to keep one out of scrutiny in order to avoid backlash, and attention drawn onto their allowance of harm to continue.
Something interesting to note is I never mentioned Off's email in 2023 to MasterSword. I had completely forgotten to, and I only mentioned the email sent by A. Very interesting they said, "... but it was 2023 and I was in the belief that the situation was handled years back," but also claim later on that "One email isn't a lot as I've recieved hundreds of emails since launch." MasterSword objectively knew of Off's email and intentionally ignored it.
Another line I had a severe issue with was this minor attempt at downplaying the issues we had:

As someone who's been nazi-jacketed for calling out figures like Punkitt for supporting and defending Samael, the main source of funds for the zoopedo cult Floraverse... as someone who's been slandered as transmisogynistic and misogynist for speaking on their experiences with transandrophobia/transmisandry... as someone who has been privately slandered as a groomer despite the "victim" and I being the same age... I do not take joy in making up "boogiemen." I do not take pride in calling out people hurting others. There is nothing more upsetting and anxiety inducing than shedding light on people who continue to abuse the power they have. I've been called every name in the book for coming out about abusive people. I take this risk, not because I want to take down everyone who disagrees with me. I don't do this to be seen as a good person, I don't do this to make myself be the hero, as many claim. I dread people calling me and treating me as a saviour for it. I do this because nobody else can. I do this, because people are hurting and being blackmailed and threatened into silence, and somebody has to do something. I have seen time and time again pain continue when folks are silent. I cannot allow things like that to continue, no matter what. This is why I go public with the situations I deal with. This is why I do what I do. Because I firmly believe it will bring closure and justice to vulnerable people. Because thankfully, I entered the wider fandom of UNDERTALE late, far after the horrors of Sexyshift where Voltrathesparking allowed people like Keno and Ryla to fester. I came into the picture years after, and I want nothing more than for vulnerable people to feel safe. Nobody has to like me, the way I handle things, the way I am and exist. Because I don't do it for them. I do this for the people affected. This is the least I can do for them. If I can make the suffering of others a little less, then it is what I will do.
So, frankly, I'm tired of letting this go. I wanted to give benefit of the doubt, I wanted to believe it was just negligence rather than compliance. I know most of the UNDERTALE Yellow team hasn't been aware of this. I'm not asking for the team to be confronted and harassed about this behavior. Frankly, most of them have been unaware due to how poorly managed the team is according to what I've been told. So, please, keep in mind, the team as a whole is not responsible for Ryla. Most of them did not know, and as more members found out about it, they were stressed beyond belief despite wanting to help.
A day after these messages, F confronted MasterSword on his close friendship with Raymes. Then, Ryla's public server attached to her Twitter was nuked. This was not the first time it was nuked. Raymes and Ryla both were staff members, but Raymes left. Ryla claimed to be deleting messages and changing channels because of people targeting anyone associating with her, including Raymes. Raymes did leave the server and publicly unfollow Ryla. This was a cover-up in real time. Thankfully, there are screenshots that show the server a day before the nuke, and Ryla's explanation for it.
No matter what, information keeps finding it's way to Ryla. She knows people are upset with others for still associating with her despite her undeniably grooming multiple people. While it is important to stress not every UNDERTALE Yellow member knew of Ryla's actions and history, there are some who did. Specifically: MasterSword and Raymes. These folks are who I know to be responsible for keeping Ryla around for so long and closing communication when Off attempted to reach out to them multiple times. I want to write a few messages to some of these people, including E.
To E, I'm confident you know who you are. The only reason I kept you anonymized is out of the slim possibility you genuinely did not know, and were manipulated into believing that Ryla was not a big deal. Unlike Raymes and MasterSword, I never could get a strong feeling about which situation was more likely. However, using your medical issues to lie about the reason behind closing your messages to a victim is disgusting. I hope you've grown from this.
Raymes, you are despicable for telling Off her abuse didn't happen. It's even more disgusting that until the afternoon of November 25, you continued to publicly associate with her. You left her public NSFW Discord server as she decided to nuke various channels. You actively worked to cover up her abuse. For that, you are just as vile as she is to me.
MasterSword. You have been nothing but a displeasure to talk to. Your first message to me was asking me about my issues so you can "clear up" any misconceptions about the team. You deflected blame anywhere you could, claiming to be distant and away. You lied about multiple things, and I called you out on it only for you to avoid addressing key points. Why did that email from A leak to Ryla? Why did you tell C that you wished people came to you sooner, when you know for a fact that has happened multiple times? Why did you reach out to C first, then me, and NEVER Off? Off was never contacted directly by any member from your team since 2019. You ignored the email sent in 2023 by her. Why did you opt to talk to anyone BUT the victims? You claim negligence through ignorance, I claim intentional ignorance. You intentionally looked the other way when Ryla was outed multiple times. Even when confronted by F about your relationship with Raymes, nothing substantial changed. The only events that came from this confrontation was Ryla and Raymes collaborating to hide potential evidence. I've never in my life had to confront someone like you when it comes to the amount of effort you put in to avoid accountability. Not only that, but you severely misinterpreted my statement about your preformative talk as some sort of attack on your religion, calling you a "preformative christian." Hear what I said, not what I did not say. You are a coward, and I hope somebody talks some damn sense into you.
You lot played a game about consequences and are trying to avoid them like the snakes that you are. I wanted to be so wrong about you. Go to hell.
... This was where I was going to cut the post. I was going to end it here. But, late on the 26th of November, I was told to get in contact with a specific member of UNDERTALE Yellow since word got to them and they are a mandated reporter. I will call them "G." She was gathering information on the situation to report to the FBI. I personally have no positive experiences with the FBI, as they did not do anything about my stalker who continued to dox me since 2020. I also do not trust the police. But, I was cautious. Maybe finally, more than one person on the team would understand how horrible Off had been treated.
I was wrong.
During our whole conversation, they insisted on making me see them as a safe space. Telling me very personal details of their life, unprompted, and never asking me if I was okay with it. I told them some of my stories, although all public because of how frequently I've talked about them on my site. I immediately noticed it felt like they were trying to get me to trust them so quickly and instantly, and something felt... wrong. I kept holding on to the small hope that maybe, something could finally be done about this. For their own sake, I'm keeping G anonymous as I do think everything they told me about their experiences are true and I do not want to out them. However, I felt pressured to give information. I've expressed to them that Off does not want this going back to her own real life, especially because of the horrible people that abuse her that she lives with. They seemed to understand. I told them the background of Ryla, how she pretended to be a married adult and even strung along another user to pretend to be her wife. I told them how Ryla sent my partner a photo of her ass when he was 13 and she was 16. I told them about the very, very stripped-down history of how Ryla got into contact with these victims.
... Then, the morning of November 27, G got in contact with Ryla. I don't want to say much, other than Ryla alleged sexual assault took place against her when she was 17. I don't want to say this never happened, and I don't want to say she deserved it. I firmly believe nobody deserves to be sexually assaulted. But, G told me, they do not believe Ryla was a predator or a groomer. Despite everything I told G, despite the threat that Off recieved, despite the blackmail, despite the cover-up Ryla initiated.
I instantly felt my gut feeling proven right, again. I burst into tears.
I cut G off immediately after being told effectively Ryla was innocent. In hindsight, I should have been suspicious. Off in the meantime changed her identity completely and even made new accounts due to her horrible history with the police. She did not want to risk a single chance. I feel like I failed Off. She tells me it's fine, but... it's not, to me. I screwed up. I don't... hate G, but I have an intense distrust with anyone that works with the government like this. Especially after this. I felt like I was being strung along to give information, because I've seen stories just like this that end horribly for the victims. I had a panic attack. If Ryla was truly sexually assaulted, I am sorry and I hope she recovered. But this does not excuse sending a 13 year old a photo of your ass when you were 16. This does not excuse threatening Off and A into silence in 2024. This does not excuse anything. Child on Child Sexual Abuse is real, and a horrible cycle. But when this continues into adulthood, that is a different beast. Just because she was a victim herself, does not mean she can harass vicitms she herself has created and hurt.
I wanted to hold off this post for another day incase anything good happened. I had to do it today, and I hope everyone understands. I may have not been blackmailed, threatened, or hurt directly, but after the brush with dragging in law enforcement only to tell me Ryla did nothing wrong when objectively she did... it left me shattered. I'm scared to post this, even now.
I want to give a dedicated thanks to F for helping. This whole shitshow was anxiety inducing, and I cannot imagine what it must be like for someone who was on the team to find out about how deep all of this goes. Please take care of yourself.
