What do you recommend instead then?

 19287[Quote]

It's decent for noobs, better than ubuntu.

 19289[Quote]

the only good distro for beginners, used it for like a year when i was starting out

 19290[Quote]

Keyed distro for people that actually want a working computer instead of tinkertrannies

 19291[Quote]

decently noob friendly, held back by being based on jewbuntu thus having prehistoric packages

 19293[Quote]>>19346

arch or whatever has up to date packages and where you can choose your own wm instead of using the coal that you cant even change. might as well use windows if you want to be locked into a crappy desktop where customizing anything is impossible.

 19294[Quote]>>19295

i literally tried updating mint once and the system changed the boot order and couldnt even finish the update. absolute trainwreck.

 19316[Quote]

 19331[Quote]>>19338>>19339>>19340

my gateway into linux, ive had it for a few weeks now. im considering changing distros but idk which one i should pick and im waiting until im a bit more comfortable. cant really judge whether its good or not because of lack of experience. all i can say is that i like it but i wanna experiment with different distros

 19338[Quote]

>>19331
same but im fine with mint like i said just install plasma instead of cinnamon its way better you can get kde-plasma-desktop in the app store

 19339[Quote]

also i might just uninstall windows entirely since im hardly even using it

 19340[Quote]>>19341

if you want full control get arch but if you dont know how to install arch use archinstall and watch some jeet tutorials, the wiki is useless

 19341[Quote]

>>19340
archinstall you could probably do yourself without even watching a tutorial

 19346[Quote]>>19353

Cinnamon isn't really a bad desktop at all, it feels more compact and friendly to use than KDE, while not looking incredibly outdated either like XFCE.

>>19319
Debian is nice, but it's far older than Mint is, which means packages are dinosaars.

 19349[Quote]

Gentoo

 19351[Quote]>>19353

Gem. Distro just works. Arch and others are garbage. Rolling is only good if you want day 1 working drivers on new hardware or use exotic hardware. Arch freezes and updates break despite having amd. Rolling distros are coal.

Mint takes out Ubuntu's shitware. Also Mint has a Debian edition.

It is a operating system.
It exists.
You can use it.
It works. (most of the time)
What about it?
