I’m going to be brutally honest for anyone who has serious career aspirations about VTubing, Twitch Partner 100+ CCV and all that — it is very rare to see a FT VTuber who is trans talk regularly / openly about being transgender. It DOES happen, it IS happening more, it STILL IS rare (1)

Trans VTubers often prefer downplaying their transness or going stealth because they do not want their gender identity to be a topic of conversation when connected to their content. And if you have serious career aspirations as a VTuber, and if you are open about your trans status, it WILL BE (2)
a topic of conversation somewhere. Even if you lean away from discussing politics I think you will be able to find an audience regardless of your status, HRT or not, voice training or not, etc. But if you’re shooting (3)
for the stars you should take stock of the stress that may be involved with being very open about your trans status and transitioning. It is NOT easy being an out and open trans VTuber. There is a reason I don’t talk trans issues that much as a VTuber compared to, say, Nyara (4)
Best of luck and if you want to talk one on one my DMs are open. Any path you take I support (5)
(I know a lot of folks on here will say they are out and open trans VTubers, and I see you and adore you, but I want to provide brutally honest career advice to someone who is trying to hit Partner, make like $4k / mo off this, and maybe apply for an agency)
(I don’t say any of this bc I think trans VTubers shouldn’t be open about their trans status. My whole brand is I’m your tgirl GF. Rather this is what most trans VTubers in the top 1% of the industry end up doing for safety reasons, and it’s something you should consider)
