Continuing my LED bulb posts... I switched my regular H4 headlight bulbs to LED, but over the years they die, discontinue, or I upgrade, etc., and I get new ones. It's helpful to note which bulbs are known to work, in order to re-buy the same, or help someone else pick. It's also nice to note which ones DON'T work, or have other issues, so you can save other memebers a headache. The most recent post by me towards the end of the thread should always note my "best" bulb from my testing/experience. Sometimes I’ll post a bulb I’m still testing so you can see all your options, but rest assured, I will update immediately if I find issues with it.
Important General Note #1 for anybody looking at the switch:
There are now 2 general designs for these bulbs. (see google sample pics below)
1. cooling fan sticking out the back end of the bulb
2. cooling fan integrated or eliminated
(new in recent years)
DO NOT buy bulb sets with the fan sticking out the back. Your headlight housing won’t seal correctly and will have more water inside than out. I tried cutting the round rubber dust cover/seals to fit, with no luck. Differing opinions welcome, but give me a chance to finish the thread first.
(^ above) fan sticks out the back.
(^ above) fan integrated or eliminated.

Important General Note #2 for anybody looking at the switch:
Remember to look for bulbs that are “hi/lo” (regular AND high beam). There are some single function bulbs out there and it would be really easy to click the wrong thing if the seller has both hi/lo and single of the same
bulb.
