Are there any other providers that can match the specs of RS 2000 G12 Pro (EPYC Turin) in 16 USD?

  • manishmanish Member

What I expected from Netcup's RS BF deal:

    RS 1000 G12 Pro (2GB special)
    CPU: 1 vCore (dedicated)
    RAM: 2 GB DDR5 ECC
Storage: 32-64 GB NVMe (downgraded from 256 GB)
    Location: 🇩🇪
    Price: €25/year [recurring]

This is a real BF Deal - please give us this netcup!

Then, they should just say "Hey we have BF everyday here." and put it on their startpage.
BF is not about some storage upgrade for same price. This is an ordinary promotion offer and definitely not a BF deal.

    14.08EUR

Anyone got YABS of the RS 1000 G12 Pro? I'm thinking if it's worth to upgrade from VPS 1000 G11 iv Pro (Nuremberg) which is 3 EUR cheaper:

It is worth it. I lost my yabs but its basically 1.6k singlecore GB6(under normal idle-load with bunch of stuff of stuff running in background) and 7-8k MC. This was for normal RS 1k GB6 and not for Pro edition which is often oversold due to them using separate hardware than main prod ones. But usually its not that bad.

The VPS you have is the worst case scenario VPS. 900 SC is never worth it for the price you're paying.

FYI, if you ever shift to a VPS again, I'd recommend doing it to Austria. German VPS are often oversold and in some cases, older-than-genoa CPU.

Thanks. So the disk is faster on small files, slower on large ones and CPU is twice as good, rest is the same.

No. I already did the calculation for RS 1000 G12 Pro in a post before, value which I paid for first three months is 11.48€. Each month after that is 8.24€/month.

Yeah I heard that disks are the only good thing about Nuremberg location. I would choose Vienna but they don't have offers there often with the double disk.

Are you sure? The billing period is 3 months, not 1 month. With the voucher, it's €11.48 for the first 3 months, and after that it's €24.72 for every 3-month period, I think.

Sorry, didn't see that you mention 3-month period. Yes, that's correct, you're right.

Kind of funny that people claim the offers are the same as usual and that nothing new has happened.

The RS G12 plans come with new and faster CPUs, and there are G12 Ultra offers with +100% NVMe, additional vCores, and +50% RAM, instead of just +100% disk.

The G12 RS1000 and RS2000 include +100% NVMe and the first month free, instead of just +100% disk.

And the best offers now use a 2–3 month contract period instead of the 12-month period they used to have.

And you still have the 30-day money-back guarantee you can use if you’re not satisfied with the VDS.

The only thing missing is unsustainable prices and a money-lost guarantee if you’re not satisfied. But I guess you will find plenty of those from other providers.

Just to point out that netcup aren't represented on LET, and they're not trying to compete on pricing with LET providers

What you get is a very good deal for the money along with the assurance that they won't unexpectedly deadpool in a few months

Because people usually pay yearly for root servers.

And not everyone wants extra cores or RAM. Give us 1/4th of resources for 1/4th of the price, how is that not sustainable for a BF deal?

    Anyways, cheers!

    128 GB NVMe
Minimum contract duration - 6 months

Isn't Hetzner officially here too? Are they too big? I didn't know.

I thought Hetzner is big and OVH is the biggest.

What about Scaleway? They are too expensive now, right?
