Thank people who rewrote perfectly working C/C++ code to Rust because they believe that Rust is superior, like Nazis did long ago. They're bad programmers who like to blame the language and not their skill issues. If only we had tools like CppCheck and Valgrind to check if our C++ code is memory safe...

the issue was not the proxy that refused a broken configuration file, it was the monitoring system that did not rollback to a correct config file.
and the system before that generated a broken file in the first place.

you may blame the programmer for deciding to write a program in a sensible way, but you can blame a programming language retard.

exiting with an error when given invalid config file is what a well behaved program should do.

you don't want things to look like everything is running well when they are actualy broken.
this would have taken them much longer to figure out that something was wrong.

i agree with that, unless you want to add features that can't be added to the existing system easily.
ie sometime it's less work to rewrite something and add the features than just add them.

it's not magicaly but it is better in many ways, it does prevent memory corruption class of bugs but that's imo the last reason to use it, it's just an overall good language that's a lot nicer to use than c++ but with which you can do the same things (and some other things that would take a LOT more effort with c++).

Completely worthless slop that I never used in my entire life. You're right that it's a skill issue, and when programmer is skilled, the code was checked before being merged to production.
