To the clowns that reported this for impersonation, stolen content, etc:

This is the original artist. I'll just ignore reports for this post from now on, so don't bother.

So uh, apparently, I’ve become a meme. This was unexpected.

The English VA for Frieren is now using your drawing as their Twitter profile picture haha

What???????????? That's crazy!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice! I still really suck at perspective. I got too ambitious with this drawing.

Happy to help and no worries, being too ambitious is the best thing you could do. Also practicing with the character model sheet.

hey OP,

Not sure if the below post is related to you. But another user posted it as theirs in a different subreddit.

https://old.reddit.com/r/animation/comments/1ow53oj/how_do_you_guys_able_to_draw_at_different_angles/

Thanks for bringing awareness to this user. I'm not gonna do something about it... for now. I'll see what else he'll do.

Edit: I didn't know you could hide posts. That's gonna be a pain.

First of all, I unironically LOVE this drawing, there's a mesmerizing beauty in this kinds of drawings that fascinates me, they truly have. Second, I think the head and the face are THE most complex thing you can draw, to many artists, including myself FOR SURE, it doesn't matter how much experience you have with it, they will always be a challenge, so it's completely understandable to struggle with it. But besies that, I wanted to help with some small tips regarding drawing the face in these complex angles.

They won't solve all your problems, but they can help you make decisions and understand what to look for when drawing the head. the main points are:

  1. Thinking of how the main shape of each feature changes when drawn in different points of view;

  2. How they interact with each other, nkowing that some things will be hidden by others and while others will show more, knowing that overlapping those features is crucial to convey perspective

  3. and last but definetly not least, to do all of that you need to understand the 3-dimensional form of those features, so try to break them into simpler, more comprehensible forms by breaking them into planes, than look for how those planes change based on the angle you're seeing them.
None of this is easy by any means and there's a lot more going on with each drawing for sure, but keep practicing, I'm a dumbass and if I was able to get to an acceptable point, you can do it for sure as well =) And feel free to reach out to me in DMs if you (or anyone reading this) want some references, study tips or any other help that I can give when it comes to art. I can't promise I'll answer it quickly, but I will when I can, it's always a pleasure to be able to help people with whatever knowledge I have about the things I love doing the most =)

This is very helpful! Thanks for sharing!

So I found this on another subreddit under another user claiming it as theirs. I think it's pretty much taken off as a meme. Just so you know it's made me and a lot of other people laugh. But don't think that I or most of the other people are laughing at you or that you're bad at drawing. A lot of times things just come out weird the first time you do it. Good for you to actually put things out there. I never could really put my music out there and kind of gave up on it. But like this is making me laugh so hard I'm crying and my back is seizing up a bit.

Deym Frieren has one of those "alpha male" jaw line

She could chew bricks whole.

Congrats, Frieren English VA has made this her pfp, you're famous.

Reminds me of that cop from the recent “body cam off since nam” meme

Meme got born (I just came from animation thread just to give proper recognition of this masterpiece to real visionary in here) good job, my wallpaper couldn’t be better👍🏻👌🏻

This is my least favorite angle to draw too lmao.

Keep at it, you'll get there. Everything from eartip to chin tip and below is actually pretty solid, you just got to the facial features and the symbolic imagery part of your brain staged a rebellion.

Sucks that other thread popped off without you, glad I found my way to the actual artist 🙏big thanks for the chuckle though, gave me good nostalgia for the Sasooke Uchiwa anime board days and the shoop wars that came with.

Hi… for whatever this is worth:

I’m a 25 year veteran of the animation industry, and I want to give you my unfettered admiration for tackling such a tough pose (arguably, one of the absolute monsters) and having the bravery to say, “Doesn’t look right” and having a sense of humor about it.

You’re doing what great artists do:

You challenge yourself, push yourself and force yourself to look at your work objectively - and you do it with a positive attitude!

Bravo to you!

I guarantee you that a year from now (or sooner) this pose will be as natural as breathing to you.

As for the tidal wave of attention it’s getting: MILK IT unashamedly! 🤣

Additionally, however, I advise that you continue to share your artistic journey.

Too many people are scared to share this kind of stuff because… well… “internet.”

Again, bravo to you!

Thanks for sharing and best of wishes to you… keep up the brave work you’re doing and never stop!

Jai Ho! (“Victory to Thee”)
