That's not discipline; it's assault! I grew up in the late 60s and 70s, and CPS would have been called for that. The mother is clearly furious, which is not the headset for disciplinary action. She is taking out her fury and frustration on someone ⅓ her size with no allowable recourse. The child's frightened child recorded this to show what happens at home!

While that might be excessive for "not cleaning up after himself" - the kid's pants were still on and those were mom spankings. He's fine. The mom might need some better guidance for punishment vs crime, but this isn't abuse, not by a long shot. Shame these children were brainwashed against their mother. Hopefully she beats the charges better than she beat the kids.

My mom spanked me worse than that once when I went out with a friend of mine and didn't tell her where I was going. I was gone all day and never checked in or anything. I didn't get home until well after sunset and she went hogwild on me with a inch wide leather belt. She whipped me across the face, neck, back, arms you name it... She was pissed! I didn't talk to her for about a week after that and still haven't forgotten it. I have no idea what this kid did, but he didn't get it nearly as bad as I did so I'll say he was lucky, I'm also sure he didn't have the monster of a step dad that I had too. I want to say what happened to that mother is overboard, but I know what she did was wrong and she should pay, but then again, that's the same kind of stuff that happend to me and well...
