So, what is it like to have first access to the early anthro.foo site once it has been fully released?
Replies: >>70440 >>70874
First 10 users got a personal red telephone to Flood, the following 100 got a "Thank you fur visiting us" mail card and a $20 Amazon gift card. It was awesome
Are we talking about the nuchan site?
>fully released
we were using an early access version this entire time?

Not much different honestly.
There was more discussion about soysphere topics. New site features were added regularly from March to June. There were artists here back then but that part really kicked off in June. Species-specific image threads were here from the beginning.

I have a lot of screenshots but they're from my phone. If that's OK then I can post some.

tl;dr It's not finished, despite having a working demo last summer, because I scrapped 3 separate versions and rewrote it from scratch many times because something new caught my eye.

A lot of things happening like having to go back to school, change jobs, and also wanting to learn something new. I treat this as a side project I work on when I have free time and as an opportunity to try new things and learn something cool. I rewrote the software 3 times and currently is my 4th attempt. I have also privated all the repos I'm working with since I don't want to be bothered about stuff.

The first time I had no idea what I was doing and trying to learn Go on the fly, that flopped. The second time I had a better idea, but still wasn't good enough and I hated writing vanilla javascript (the demo I showed) fur basic interactivity. The third time I tried to learn Elixir because some boomer on HackerNews said it was the coolest shit ever and being a gullible zoomer that follows every trend I believed him and that failed even harder than the first time (lol). Right now, I am using Go with the SvelteKit framework fur the frontend and after watching many videos on design and project structure I'm confident I will get far enough to a demo (again).

Picrel are some drafts fur the UI, I have the backend complete I just need to create a UI to interact with it now. The only notable "new" thing is ability fur OP/mods sticky replies in a thread like you can in 'cord.

Just an FYI: I seriously doubt this will replace what the 'foo has, and I am trying my best to preserve the spirit of IBs and respect busy peoples time.

With the UI, I try to copy the best ideas from Twitter, Discord, XenFuro, and 4chan. These 4 are very mature and have their UX nailed perfectly so I'm not trying to create anything new.

The hardest part so far is testing. I still don't know how to write good tests with Go lang and I need to figure that shit out asap because manually testing every interaction after a one line change is beginning to drive me insane.

Picrel is the home landing page, the idea is like in Twitter when you scroll down the banner and menu hide themselves. Do not worry about me not finishing this because I am a slow but steady worker. I'm trying my best because web dev shittin is a fureign field fur me personally.

If you want a rough idea of what it would be like just visit https://tinychan.net (NOTE: I do not know who these people are or how they run the site, but I take inspiration of how their software works).
>globohomo algo slop website
There will be no algorithms but only the power of the bump, the notification things are just to make it easier fur people to track interaction which is the most difficult thing here (fur me).

No catty or picrels? Your prob right fur just copying what works only thing fur that mobile UI is be careful with buttons on the bottom that’s near the search bar.
