tl;dr It's not finished, despite having a working demo last summer, because I scrapped 3 separate versions and rewrote it from scratch many times because something new caught my eye.
A lot of things happening like having to go back to school, change jobs, and also wanting to learn something new. I treat this as a side project I work on when I have free time and as an opportunity to try new things and learn something cool. I rewrote the software 3 times and currently is my 4th attempt. I have also privated all the repos I'm working with since I don't want to be bothered about stuff.
The first time I had no idea what I was doing and trying to learn Go on the fly, that flopped. The second time I had a better idea, but still wasn't good enough and I hated writing vanilla javascript (the demo I showed) fur basic interactivity. The third time I tried to learn Elixir because some boomer on HackerNews said it was the coolest shit ever and being a gullible zoomer that follows every trend I believed him and that failed even harder than the first time (lol). Right now, I am using Go with the SvelteKit framework fur the frontend and after watching many videos on design and project structure I'm confident I will get far enough to a demo (again).
Picrel are some drafts fur the UI, I have the backend complete I just need to create a UI to interact with it now. The only notable "new" thing is ability fur OP/mods sticky replies in a thread like you can in 'cord.
Just an FYI: I seriously doubt this will replace what the 'foo has, and I am trying my best to preserve the spirit of IBs and respect busy peoples time.
