Invention of the candy is attributed to Thomas Tate Tidwell in 1966, with the patent issued in November 1969.[2] The candy was originally manufactured by the Triple T Candy Company (Atlanta, Georgia) and sold under the brand name "Triple Treat." The new brand name, "Charms Blow Pops," was introduced in 1973.[3] (English)

Inc., filed a patent for “Method for making candy with gum inside.”[1] Triple T initially marketed the product as the Triple Treat. In 1973, Triple T sold the idea to Charms, where it was renamed the Blow Pop. What is better than a lollipop? A lollipop that also includes bubble gum! This is the theory that led to the creation of Charms Blow Pops and this turns out to have been a very successful concept. People love these lollipops that allow you to enjoy the gum at the center when you have finished the lollipop itself. Everyone loves lollipops and gum, and this is a treat that combines them both.
