If you wrote "most anime is shit" I'd agree.
If you wrote "most anime people watch is shit" also I'd agree.
But you're telling me what I'm watching is mostly shit.
That makes no logical sense whatsoever.
Because if it was shit, I wouldn't watch it.

I watch an anime solely because it's good - no other reason to watch an anime. If one is shit, I don't watch it. Simple as.

Posts like these are basically l'appel du vide. You admit that most anime is trash to feel like the damage this causes you is mitigated by you being the one doing it to yourself then try to run damage control by listing how the anime you happen to like happen to be exceptions. I like Dragon Ball despite its direct role in spawning or at least popularising all the shonen tropes that have caused the entire 'genre' to become what it is today

I am allowed to do this. It becomes a problem when I insist that nothing else in the medium strives for more. The reason so much anime is complete horseshit is either being highly derivative, as with that first example, or being held hostage by a subsect of otaku that is only interested in one particular kind of anime. Anime has been consumed almost entirely by a cargo cult obsessed with anime loli feet and armpits that will broker absolutely no resistance to the idea that there is more to the medium than mindless self-applauding indulgence of sexual pleasure, while in the West it's more common for people to obsess over shonen fight scenes and isekai. The exceptions are often old or overrated and making these exceptions by yourself doesn't change that.

The quotebutton was a mistake that ruined the art of soyquoting through normalizing a bastardized nuway of quoting which rendered soyquotes ineffective / massively reduced their power (chiefly through how it makes observers unable to instantly see that a poster got portrayed as a soyjak and secondarily through how it makes long chains of counter-portrayals look utterly retarded and confusing - to observers, not necessarily to those battling - due to the excess of arrows, which turns it all into a sloppy-looking unfocused mess when in contrast it could've looked all high-precision and hard-hitting; like randomly spraying an area with low-caliber handgun fire and randomly spamming greandes, instead of combatants hitting each other with high-powered sniper rifles and laser-guided precision bombs). The nuway is alright, though, if there's no post between the post that you're soyquoting and your soyquote-post (so your soyquote-post appears right under the poster you're portraying as a soyjak, with nothing inbetween).
