What’s a sentence that someone told you that stuck with you for the rest of your life?

While I do like the smarm of a good "3rd person, 2nd person, 1st person," I also love how it tracks the passage of time. At first it's muted, dull. It's a thing that happened in the past, to someone else who isn't you. You're a passenger in that story. But then (a recurring theme in Bojack Horseman in general) you are forced to confront that you made bad, destructive decisions that led to the outcome you currently find yourself in. And the poem focuses on that one critical point - halfway down - right now - the exact present - in this very moment, how you feel with no control over what's happening to you except for the control that you had when you were standing on the bridge.

I think about that show a lot whenever I find myself struggling with the consequences of my bad choices. It brings me a small comfort that I'm not the only one that's lost friends, jobs, opportunities, and nice things to my own bad decisions, and found myself looking at the "view from halfway down" as the momentum of those choices hurtles me through the metaphorical air with no chance to stop the inevitable.
