maybe the system so incredibly rigged against the common person nowadays that this is so incredibly commonplace unless you're born into wealth, that it would just eventually happen that even a mayor would still live with their parents?

Worked in downtown Seattle in the late 1990's, got off work at 10PM. I thought I saw shit as a kid fresh out of college. Occasionaly drunk slumped in a hidden corner.
Years later would go in early on Saturdays to buy hobby supplies, and thought I was seeing real shit going down. Homeless camp in Prefontaine, which cleared out during peak tourist hours.
Hadn't been in downtown for a few years, go in and check out the stores I previously used... closed, closed, very little model hobby related anymore, homeless druggies in groupings here and there, tented camps in front of some stores. STAY OUT OF BELLTOWN AND INTERNATIONAL.
September go for a job interview in Freemont. HR sees me through the window approaching, as soon I tell who I am and why I'm there: "POSITION HAS ALREADY BEEN FILLED", spic lady with a look of disgust at me... I was not DEI enough to work there. Away from my car for just minutes, 2 blocks away, filthy drugged out girl is half laying across my hood, similar guy is sitting leaning against a wheel, 3rd guy is circling trying door handles and trunk. :Last one runs away when I walk at him staring with a fist in my jacket.
Start up, turn hard, and back out rapidly, dropping the human trash off. Not worth going into Seattle for anything.

She is getting assistance from her parents because Seattle has become extremely expensive to live in if you don't have a six figure tech job

While she's new to elected office, she's lead several successful coalitions that resulted in new policies that the city adopted, so she's hardly inexperienced there

But hey, she's not a pedophile billionaire felon, so of course MAGAts hate her!

It does work. The problems, the ones it trickles-down to are extremely stupid and piss away the money right away. We see it all the time when someone gets a little money in their pocket and then pisses it away almost immediately. Then they bitch that they can never get ahead and the system is rigged against them - while they smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, buy expensive coffee every morning, smoke a lot of pot, etc.

In theory I'd agree with you OP except for the fact that the elites want us to own nothing and be happy and so... we have record numbers of people still living with their parents because of all the predatory systems in place.

So, no, I can't really fault her for that. What bothers me is that no Democrat or Republican gets a seat at the table without first being compromised.
>>
>>942652646
Typical libtard response. Take one aspect of the discussion and act like that is the only thing.
>>
>>942652332
>It does work.
No it doesn't.

>The problems
Are that it doesn't trickle down.

>the ones it trickles-down to are extremely stupid
Let's grant that for the sake of argument: What happened to their education? Did they learn Constitutional Law so they'd understand how their rights have been gutted? No. Did they learn finances so that they could accrue wealth? ... no. Did they even learn skills that would make them more desirable to be hired? ... nope...

Well, shit, what did they learn in school? Oh, that's right! They learned from the Prussian method of schooling instituted by the elites about a century ago and what they wanted was a dumbed-down populace that was just smart enough to show up on time and on schedule, pull some levers, press some buttons, not know how to sue for bodily harm on the job, pay their taxes--especially freshly minted "temporary" income tax... and then fuck off and die.

The same elites that sold you trickle-down sold you this education system.

>and piss away the money right away.
If it truly trickled down... should they not have the disposable income available? Well, I dunno, tell us what they're buying:

>they smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, buy expensive coffee every morning, smoke a lot of pot, etc.
That's peanuts. Moreover the older generation bought their creature comforts and could still afford a house, wife, and kids on one salary. You're ridiculous.
>>
>>942652777
>we have record numbers of people still living with their parents because of all the predatory systems in place.
The real issue is that no one wants to leave their parent's nice home and move into a small home in a shitty part of town. Of course, I can't blame them because I don't want to live in a shitty part of town. And then add to that the shitty parts of town are shitty because they don't let the cops come in and arrest criminals / keep them in jail.
My first house was a block away from one of the most dangerous areas in town - a huge apartment complex. At least it was, until a year before then because that's when the city had enough of that crap and started doing raids every weekend for a couple of months and stationed a cop car at a spot where everyone coming in could see it. All of a sudden there was a lot less crime in there and people started buying homes in the area.
>>
>>942652894
>one aspect of the discussion
The one aspect of the discussion that you apparently don't want to talk about is that almost all of the wealth that has been created since 1980 has gone to the top 5%. I'd say that's pretty central to the problem.
>>
>>942653107
>What happened to their education?
The liberal department of education and lazy ass parents who are too busy on their phones to raise their children properly.

>>942653107
>That's peanuts.
And as always, libtards make excuses for their failures.

>>942653107
>bought their creature comforts and could still afford a house
Most didn't go out to eat other than as a treat a time or two a year. They didn't have computers, laptops, cell phones, speakers, ear buds, cases for phones, multiple TV's, buy expensive coffee, eat lots of candy, take big vacations when they couldn't afford them, use credit cards to rack up debt, and on and on.
>>
>>942653193
>The real issue is that no one wants to leave their parent's nice home and move into a small home in a shitty part of town.
No. The real issue is at least these 2 factors:
1) Inflation has utterly destroyed the spending power of the dollar and the ability for the common person to have the purchasing power necessary to afford a single, family, home.
2) After the 2008 "recession," the elites started buying more property.

You tack on the fact that they want us to all live in 15 minute smart city prisons, be permanent renters, have CBDCs that they can turn off on a whim?

... well, shit.

>they don't let the cops come in and arrest criminals / keep them in jail.
You mean to tell me another facet of the elites' control also works against the common man's interest?! Say it ain't so...
>>
>>942653250
>I'd say that's pretty central to the problem.
It's your right to be wrong. Ignoring the wasteful spending means you know you are wrong.
The average cost of a pack of cigarettes is $8. That is almost $3k a person spends a year if they smoke a pack a day.
And how many of those losers also smoke pot?
Wealth has never been about earnings. It is always been about spending. That's why millionaires go broke and poor people who spend wisely can move up in the world.

>>
>>942653361
>The liberal department of education
The Prussian model. Doesn't matter who runs it.

>and lazy ass parents who are too busy
Yes, because the wealth doesn't trickle down, and salaries don't spread as far as they used to, and so you often need 2 incomes to survive.

Moreover, the food is poisoned and people are being ground into dust.

>on their phones
With the artificial blue light the elites wanted in the LED screens that are designed to burn out dopamine receptors in the eyes.

>to raise their children properly.
So, in essence, a whole lot of elite fuckery.
Thanks for proving my point.

>Most didn't go out to eat other than as a treat a time or two a year.
The food is poisoned either way. And the cheap shit people would eat like rice and potatoes are still poisoned.

Ironically, the best prices I can get is a McDonald's. I've checked the supermarkets.

>They didn't have computers, laptops, cell phones, speakers, ear buds, cases for phones, multiple TV's, buy expensive coffee, eat lots of candy, take big vacations
They absolutely did as their relative prices dropped. So, no.

>when they couldn't afford them
On yes they did. You had people mess up in every generation

>use credit cards to rack up debt
Yes they did. Credit cards are predatory. That's their entire purpose.
>>
>>942653596
>Whaaaa! Elites!!!! Whaaaa!!!!
If only you knew how bad things really were.

>I need my pot vape!
Nope, I don't partake.

>I need my Red Bulls!!!
Nope, that's poison.

>I need my starbucks coffee!!!!
Nope, caffeine is poison.

3 swings. 3 misses.

>>942652575

Fairly typical of democrats in safe areas where the election is never really contested. They're basically just appointed by the party. The vote is just kabuki theater.

Thanks for the graphic. Might be a little easier to explain to my boomer parents why I don't have a house, 2 cars and 4 kids by my mid 30s like they did.
