Has Ryukishi ever commented on the console releases and how 95% of the normie audience he loves so much pretty much treats his original art as a complete joke to be laughed at? I have heard he helped with Beatrice's voice actor and corresponded with the guy who wrote Miotsukushi so I guess they weren't total soulless cash grabs but I do wonder if he has any thoughts about them functionally replacing his own work. Can't wait to play Ciconia on my Playstation 8 when I'm in the retirement home.

Mei's story finale actually had Miyuki trying to debunk all supernatural events from Higurashi to deny one of the main antagonists of the story.

But, yeah, she used a similar argument. Looping = delusion from hinamizawa syndrome virus. Knowledge obtained from looping that should be impossible is due to shared connection between the virus (like how the infected are influenced by the "Queen" virus within Rika, so it should be theoretically possible to share other kinds of information, including full shared delusions, explaining two different people knowing about the same "other world").

Although, really, I don't think a sci-fi virus is really part of the mystery genre. And it's weird to try to deny fantasy by resorting to a basically magical virus.

Did Lee Meijiu really have Butler's little sister killed at the end of RGD? I don't like thinking about this possibility because the narrative made it seem he overcomed the cycle of revenge/hatred thanks to Alan. I mean it would be human for him to finally get revenge for Meixue but still. I can't see any other way to make Phil turn against Gabriel and he did have the possibility to learn about Ange through Alan and his infiltration mission. Why is this novel so sad. I thought it would be happy go lucky like Yakuza games because of Leo, not the max pain ride it ended up being

That's the beauty of Yakuza games, they're pain rides too. Leo leaving on a metaphorical journey and coming back too late to save everyone, but just in time to at least save some people is very much Kiryu. RGD is particularly brutal at that point so I just believed she died yes, but I kind of enjoy that kind of story. If everything is shit the small victories are extremely meaningful.

Shion didn't exist when Onikakushi was written, so Mion was likely meant to still be in love with Satoshi at that point (You can also see her getting an anger outburst moment that she never gets in later chapters, because that became Shion's trait).

Although you can kind of excuse it with just her being insecure, like when Keiichi gives the doll to Rena. But I feel like you'd never see her joking about seeing Rena kissing Keiichi in later chapters.

I just reread Ciconia and I enjoyed it. I’m disappointed the coward did not carry on and instead writes plots for janky horror games.

I read the entirety of Umineko as it came out and I feel like I'm being generous when I give it a 4/10. It's a convoluted mess that reads like it was written by a 12 year old. The Japanese fanbase refuses to so much as give Ryuukishi the time of the day nowadays for good reason.
Honestly, I find the extent to which the western fanbase is obsessed with Umineko to this day to be frightening in a sense. I have no idea how you guys can drone on about it day after day nearly nine years after the final episode was released; Ryuukishi is a hack who has no idea how to actually tell a story that does anything except continually bait the reader with red herrings and empty promises of greater themes. He's been like this since Higurashi and will never improve, either on a technical level or as a storyteller in general.
Like I said, almost no Japanese fan cares about Ryuukishi nowadays, and it's more than people just being pissed off about episode 8 of Umineko (people were pissed off about Minagoroshi and Matsuribayashi long before then, anyway). It's because they've had enough exposure to him to see through his tricks and stop falling for his brand of spectacle and sophistry. And yes, his terrible, childish text is part of the problem too - there are parts of Higurashi that have such embarrassingly poor writing that they're used as copypasta on 2ch.
I don't know how the western fanbase continues to put up with Ryuukishi, and I honestly feel that it's damaging to the community as a whole to continue to obsess this much over a single work so long after the fact. The amount of Umineko discussion is one of the reasons people who read untranslated eroge feel so disconnected from the broader western fanbase, and it's not hard to see how stifling this level of obsession can be if you take a step back

Haworthia was based on his initial plans for Ciconia. He really should have stuck with super high tech civilization in the ancient past, rather than trying to deal with an extrapolation of modern Geo-politics.

I never said that was Satoko's hair/hairstyle.

I'm really more annoyed at all the artists who take that attitude (Lambda looks totally like Takano!) and then heavily CHANGE her design to match that. You don't see any other characters this inconsistently portrayed.

Only difference is F/SN was a battle shounen so it adapted well to mainstream battle shounen anime. Then F/GO got big on the gatcha shit.

R07 tired to follow with Sotsu/Gou and his own gatcha games but they Sotsu was ok and Gou ended like shit.
