Sad that the OP has deleted this great post, but there's a follow-up, 2w later:

I switched to Cricket years ago and am quite happy. I've got 5 lines for my family, wifi hotspot, HBO, and coverage in Canada when I travel there. All for $168.

Im going to add this to my post as well as an edit but If you have a great experience with them then I’m happy for you, im speaking about the frustration I face when they market themselves as an affordable alternative when they aren’t for a majority of people. The majority who use cricket are low income individuals. Mainly the elderly and those on social security and disability. When a customer comes in with a broke phone and they’re scammed into paying for the protection plan for $8 a month (12 for iPhones) and then they come in and have to pay a $200 deductible when the phone itself is only worth $80. That’s when the issues arrises morally. I know some people don’t care about others who aren’t well off financially but I do.

I understand your point, but every company will allow uninformed people to overspend on their products and services. For example, Walmart will gladly sell you a "protection plan" for ANY of their electronics, even on cheapest of garbage tech. If you have a moral issue with that concept, you may want to relocate to another country. Because welcome to capitalism...

Cricket seems to provide a reasonable service for a good price. I know people that pay more for 2 phones than I pay for 5, and I have a Wi-Fi hotspot, HBO, and travel coverage.

You do realize they sell a $30 plan right

What’s you smoking Willis? Crickets has the best price ever! What they lack is customer service and customer phone upgrades.

I consider cricket a pretty decent value.

I'm on the $60 ($55 with auto pay) and the reason I went with this network is because they treat roaming in Mexico the same way as if you are in the US, meaning there are no data caps or limits while in Mexico which I am in very often (I live near the border and have family throughout Baja).

On top of that, you get certain perks depending on the plan, such as HBO Max which I actually use since I switched to cricket around 3 months ago from Visible.

My biggest thing is the Mexico usage since I no longer have to carry an extra phone with a Mexico sim card.

If there's anything comparable and cheaper, I'd love to know about it.

I also live in Mexico most of the year. I’ve had no problems with Cricket. Some phone plans cut you off after 3 months there. I’ve not had that issue.

I get the frustration you are talking about i work for cricket for 7 years cricket wireless isn't the problem it's the AR you are working for.... cricket has set goals that are cool and easy to meet.. but your AR add on extra bull and don't fully payout like they need to pay they're employees at lease you are seeing the bull now and not months down the line... like come on 50 cent if u get someone to do autopay telling adding a bunch of accessories to a PPP that they think is free but will be paying for it for a year is crazy

I was training for about a week, had a customer degrade me due to his own incompetence and misunderstanding, after I explained to him the situation he proceeding to crumple his receipt and throw it in my face and huff and puff. I quit after that.

I literally had a customer when I was working for Cricket tell me to suck my dog's dick and I told him he is no longer welcome in the store and if he comes into my store I'm going to suspend his account which is funny because he doesn't even know his account pin and wants to pay the bill lolololol

Can appreciate your frustrations. I can only say I have been with the for quite a while now. I can afford any provider I want but why throw money away? Have been more than pleased with coverage and service. You need to find the sweet spot where you can sell but yet help people. Wish you the best.

I applaud you for having morals. ❤️🥰

I’m not sure if this is sarcastic but thank you 😭

It’s not sarcastic. I shook my head when you related the story of the guy who came in and your managers were present and you wished you could’ve steered him in the right direction. Best of luck to you in your future job endeavors.

Yeah, but what do you tell your customers who buy from Walmart and then come in to your store for help?

Some, many need stores. You have to get paid. Owners need to make a profit. That's America.

That said, would never go into "any" phone store.

I would tell them to call 611. Because a majority of the time it’s something they can be helped with. We charge them a $5 convenience fee just to pay in store.. we aren’t getting the fee (we as in the sales rep) so who is it convenient for? This week alone I had 6 people coming for help and had to direct them to call 611.

To be honest as of right now the upgrade deals are fucking trash. It'll get better for November & December but I still agree with you. I always try my best to tell people exactly what they're paying for.

Too bad you’re not allowed to tell them to get their accessories on Amazon. I’m a long time cricket customer so I have a good deal but no way do I buy my accessories there

I've been on Cricket since 2013 with very few issues. My wife will not switch to TMo because it doesn't work at our country house in the sticks since it's an old Centennial Wireless territory. LA, MS, AL, GA & FL have never given me any issues on Cricket nor Metro. I buy my phones factory unlocked every year & the bills are on autopay. Everyone on my Cricket plan now has factory unlocked 17PMs & watch Xs. I also have an S25U on Cricket, again with zero issues. 6 lines for 150 unlimited everything is cool with me, especially since I don't have to hear complaints from my wife & child about their service. YMMV

When I used to work there they had a $25 plan which got retired and a $30 plan as well

I've always thought metro was way worse. They add dealer fees that charge $100-200 extra

I've only had 1 major issue with cricket that was my fault for not knowing.

Got my son a new phone, put my sim in to see if it was compatible, it wasnt. My line was immediately suspended. Talked to chat, explained what happened, they needed a compatible phone, gave them the info for my unlocked s22 ultra. They then told me that phone Ive at the time been using since release wasn't compatible. I had to go to the actual store and the awesome worker there fixed it for me.

Don't forget crooked thiefing liars

Cricket makes more than necessary. The farther up the chain you go the more exuberance there is. All business is like that unfortunately. I understand OP feeling undervalued and knowing there are far cheaper, and just as good, options to direct people too but having their hands tied.

Morality is a fading thing.

I've been friends with the RM in my area since high school. He will always direct people to other options if they are not so well off. The brand is not the best by a long shot and he freely expresses that. Again, morals.

Apply at an Apple Store if there is one in your town. Best company in the world to work for.

300 for a darn case, screeen protector and charger?!?! I could get an iPhone case, screen protector and charger for under 100

i mean, they offer a plan for $35/mo. and its heck of a lot cheaper if you have a family. currently paying $130 for 4 lines on supreme unlimited, and its a heck of a value. this same plan (similar domestic features) costs $96 at at&t

When I was younger I went to an interview at Verizon for some sales position. Very quickly figured out I'm not the salesman type. I'm very grateful all it took was the interview for me to realize that.

You don’t work for Cricket Wireless. Probably a dealer store. Cricket Wireless does not have sales reps.

I know who I work for, I’m not mentioning the company name. Regardless still the same shitty prices and practices. Cricket doesn’t have any corporate owner stores they are owned by AT&T so all stores are authorized dealers. At the end of the day cricket allows it to happen.

Most expensive?? You sure you're not working for Verizon?? 😂. I've compared a lot of carriers vs Cricket over the years and Cricket always wins

Commission it all depends on the dealer not the actual company. Our commission is the most on our city for our cricket doors. We have employees over 10 years plus.

When it comes for insurance, it’s mostly the same for all companies, since we all use the same insurance company.

Our pricing is so competitive too for our plans, you probably just have a bad dealer who screws people over.

Our saying is always customer service comes first

Also the dealers do not get the $5 fee for paying bills in stores. We make 0 on devices.

Cricket is the worst mvno
