Awww thank youuu, you're so sweet <33 looks like I'm the one getting diabetes from you instead ehehe
I hope this is enough insulin for you!!! ->💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉

Just one small critique for this version, for people that do not have debug mode or backup, the Skarmory fight with Jangmo'o is either a gigantic softlock or a slog of RNG fishing for hours, it definitely needs either a rework or to be axed entirely.

I wanted to ask if this game have like a discord server so I can follow it? I like the appeals of this game and can't wait to try it out!

I am fond of the reptile theme! The 3 starters suit the protagonist because of their cool and snappy image, with a cute side to them too ^^
Totodile isn't changed, but Feraligatr in this game learns some additional moves at level 1 (to make it comparable to Charizard and Sceptile), whereas it doesn't in the official games.
Thanks for the reply! Sorry for the stupid question, but the guide doesn't seem to say what the changes to Treeko and Charmander are, where can I find them?

That's because the 2 of them aren't changed from their original Gen VII selves! Only those Pokemon specifically singled out in the guides are changed, the rest are untouched (and based on Gen VII).

1st Anniversary Post

Valerie: It's been a full year since Pokémon Crimson & Cobalt's Act I release! Hooray, hooray!
Kane: According to trivia, today also happens to be Gen's birthday.
Valerie: Indeed - such a wonderful coincidence! This calls for a celebration!
Valerie: How about we treat ourselves to... cake!
Valerie: A cake on every route, in every town and city of our region!

Protagonist: Are you kidding me?! That's like... ten thousand cakes we have to prepare!
Protagonist: How in the world are we getting ten thousand cakes?
Kane: Actually, we only need thirty-three...
Protagonist: And that makes our Champion's brilliant plan soooo much more feasible, am I right?!
Valerie: Teehee! I'm glad to hear that from you!
Valerie: No doubt, thirty-three cakes must hardly be a challenge to a master baker such as yourself!
Protagonist: I - I mean...! That's not what I -
Protagonist: Just because I can bake them, doesn't mean I will for you bunch of assholes!
Protagonist: Four cakes, okay?! Four cakes is all you're going to get! Take it or leave it!
Valerie: You have my eternal gratitude!

Gen: Hey, look who's here!
Gen: Is this your doing, Valerie? Did you invite the Gym Leaders?
Valerie: Oh, you understand me too well, Gen!
Valerie: Although, I couldn't have done it without my helpful little messenger!
Clefairy: Pippi!
Gen: Ahaha, Larvitar and I were thinking of doing the same thing ourselves. But you guys beat us to it!
Valerie: Great minds think alike! Joy, cheer and delicious food should be shared with everyone!

Larvitar: Bruloooh...
Gen: You're stuffed, huh, Larvitar? So am I...
Gen: Guess there's really a limit to how much cake one can eat in a single setting... no matter how good it tastes...
Gen: In the end, having only four cakes turned out to be the right call...
Protagonist: About time you realized. In what universe is that idea not way too excessive?
Protagonist: Thirty-three cakes... thirty-three routes and cities! I can't believe our dev has to map out all of them...!
Valerie: And it's not just outdoor maps that have to be created for our game, no?
Valerie: Caves, building interiors, Secret Hollows... we'd want to adventure in those places too!
Gen: Now I'm curious - what's the progress on Act II like?

Trainer sprites: 95%
Outdoor maps: 90%
Indoor maps: 75%
Story writing: 0%
Coding the story and trainers into the game: 0%

Protagonist: What the hell??? You call this "progress"???
Protagonist: A Relaxed Shuckle with a Lagging Tail can crawl faster than that dev can make a game!
Protagonist: And instead of actually working on said game, the bastard decides to make this totally irrelevant anniversary post, complete with fake screenshots of fake events - copy-and-pasted events at that...
Gen: Oh, but the locations are real though!
Protagonist: Not my point! I'm talking about misplaced priorities! Severely and utterly misplaced!
Kane: Wait till you hear how development has essentially halted to a stop in recent months due to the dev being occupied with other stuff...
Protagonist: No way...
Kane: It's safe to say that we won't be seeing Act II any time in the near future.
Protagonist: But... if that's the case, then... why even bother with writing this in the first place...?
Valerie: Because our dev loves us, of course! And misses us dearly!
Valerie: Spending time with us, even in this manner, has never failed to be a source of happiness and comfort -
Protagonist: Alright, stop, I get it! If those cakes didn't already give me diabetes, you will!

I LOVE THIS!!

Happy birthday Crimson & Cobalt!!! Only 3 more years until Act II release! (right? 😉)

So, I just found this game and it looks really good, but I keep getting an error message when I try to play:

Script 'MKXP Compatibility' line 37: Errno::ENOENT occured.

No such file or directory - Data/Animations.rxdata

If anyone knows how to fix this, I'd greatly appreciate it (I have already tried re-downloading the entire .rar file, and that has not changed anything)

I know sometimes, if the file path the game folder is in is too long, it can cause errors where the game isn't able to recognize and access all the files it needs.

Sometimes, this can be fixed by moving the game folder up one folder in the path, until the file path is short enough for it to detect the files the game needs to.

If I may ask, where did you put the game folder?

Sure, like with any Pokemon fan game or rom hack I play, I always put them within a folder titled "Pokemon Games" in my second ssd so it looks like this on the navigation bar: D:\Pokemon Games\Pokémon Crimson & Cobalt v1.6

Hmm... That close to the drive, there shouldn't be an issue with the game accessing the files it needs.

Sadly, I'm not sure what else could be the issue. Hopefully, @Armin will be around before too much longer to provide insight that'll help you play the game.

Thanks anyways. And yeah, hopefully it will not take too long but the game looks great so I am more than willing to wait if it means I get to play it

This error message means that the file "Animations.rxdata" could not be detected... you might want to try going to the "Data" folder in the game folder (i.e. D:\Pokemon Games\Pokémon Crimson & Cobalt v1.6\Data) and make sure that "Animations.rxdata" is there. You may also want to try downloading this and moving it into the "Data" folder.

I don't guarantee it'll work, because I've seen others with the same issue as yours, and the method above didn't seem to solve it. However, this is the only way I could replicate the issue on my end. If you want to try redownloading the .rar file again, you may want to do so from this alternate Google Drive link, and make sure that "Animations.rxdata" is properly extracted. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Aside to @Pandemoniu, thank you so much for helping! <3

I solved it. The problem was the "Administrative Language settings" for my computer, specifically the "Language for non-Unicode programs." I had mine set to Japanese so I could play some fan translations of some old jrpgs. Setting it back to English lets me run the game. Thanks anyways for the help and I'm really looking forward to diving right into the game.

Hi is there a reason why when i try to change size from anything but medium i get a blank screen?
