I'm not sure if it will help in your case, but a solution was posted here to what seems like a similar problem. Perhaps you might want to give it a try.
Playing the game again this week after a while not playing it. While playing i got curious and suggestion is it possible to have other outfits for mc in next update i don't know just hoodie as outfit not really make the mc stand out

i only hope the next update have full screen function, for some reason when selecting full-screen option in game setting the result is black screen for the game

edit: found the solution on this thread thank you armin

He doesn't really like colorful and flashy clothes so I'm afraid it's going to be hoodie all the way... but he will actually get the chance to wear other outfits in the future.

Okay i already try it. The game really look pleasing for my eyes the map structure and Tilesets use really good. The battle difficulty is normal. I love how the story goes i feel like having a journey in group and all the group members have time to shine just like in anime because of that the story is the biggest point of this game. There some animation for pokemon move that need to be upgraded because some 2 move have same animation. There this little lag because of the old Pokemon essential version.

Thank you for the enjoyable game. Hope soon we can see an update. Stay healthy and happy ciao

Not sure if anyone else has asked about this, but I'm trying to get through the rocks North of Grimmetts City but for some reason the Rock Smash Module refuses to work. I know for a fact that I have Pokemon on my team that should be able to use it, but yet nada. The Flash and Cut Modules work just fine, so Idk what's going on.

Please make sure that you have 1) the Rock Smash Module in the Key Items pocket of your bag and 2) a Fighting, Steel or Ground-type Pokémon in your party! I suggest catching a Mankey (30% encounter rate in the morning) on Route 5.

I played this over a few days, and first and foremost: I really like it. I had some issues I'll get into later, some of which are more personal taste in nature, but overall it was a really fun romp with really fun characters and with a really good sense of presentation. I'll go really indepth because I enjoyed it a ton and I thought a lot about what I liked as I was going through.

~ Gameplay ~

I felt that you provided a lot of item variety and access fairly early on, which was appreciated. Same with Pokemon. It didn't take too long at all to get a balanced party together, and once I got the main guys on there I didn't need to switch out my actual Pokémon, relying on the generous move tutor / reminders provided to raise up to specific challenges. I feel the gym battles were in my preferred level of difficulty: Hard, with a gimmick, but not insurmountable with a well built and flexible team. I give any game that makes me switch out a harsh penalty in my estimation, but each gimmick was simple and with six Pokémon you'll usually have at least one strategy to counter it. The fighting gym was hard, but with Charge Beam Gaming, anything is possible.

My number one critique of the gameplay is that I feel it's got too much grinding for how much content there is and how many levels you get between each gym. Fangames often tend to put a lot more in between gyms than the main game, stretching out what were the midgame levels before into the new early game, and this was often painful when I needed to change out a party member for a more permanent one while party building or trying to raise up something for the Pokedex. I don't think the EXP Shares do enough to mitigate this, though it was an admirable band-aid. This scaling to content problem extends to the TM availability, though again, the move tutor helps to assuage the problem somewhat. Still, especially with the winding secret hollows, I often felt as though I was required to turn on fast mode for the game to even begin to respect my time. IMO, building around EXP All might have made things a lot smoother.

Even so, I did like the Secret Hollows. I liked how each one had a little side-story and I appreciated that you do have the opportunity to grind in there if you want. Getting to get a huge chunk of your dex quest done and getting ample time to comb each area for its unique Pokémon with a healing partner by your side was nice. They're a good example of how deeply you obviously thought through the game's progression.

~ Presentation ~

I really have nothing substantial to critique. You went above and beyond for this; it's obvious you have a commitment to visual flair. There were many moments where I thought "this must have taken half an hour to put together for such a small moment", and those moments felt very personal and poignant, or added a nice little something. Mmmm, food pictures.

The tilesets used blended together really well, and were pleasant to look at and walk through. My only gripe with how they were used was this game really does have Big Map Disorder, and I often got lost in environments LOL but that might be a me thing.

The animations and cutscenes were obviously given a lot of care, too. I saw a lot of specific sprites in there for specific scenes. 10/10!

~ Writing ~

The writing is really what kept me on it through the grind. The main character being his own distinct person was a really good choice, and he's done well! He's funny, he's got a consistent personality, the game remembers his personality traits (he loves Pokémon! He helps an old man with a computer because he reminds him of his grandpa!
He's physically disabled and the game remembers when that's relevant, holy shit!!!)

I named him Chazz, unaware that his official name is Chase. And also unaware of the card games. It ended up fitting uncannily well.

The story is pretty good, and being that it's often a neglected or poorly implemented element of many fangames, that basically makes it an automatic 10. The bad guys are threatening and Actual Murderers, an element which has before been done poorly, but with how things lock in with the main character, it feels like it's not for shock value and it's well enough explored that it doesn't feel unnecessary. One part I liked is that the Pokémon are present throughout, including your OWN Pokémon coming out of their ball in scenes and being namedropped by your guy. I felt that was missing from experiences like, say, Reborn, which often felt like they forgot your team exists. lmao. Good on you keeping the core of Pokémon in here.

The side characters are slightly less well developed, but this is obviously partially because we're not in their head. I appreciate the effort the story goes to in order to ingratiate you to them, and it almost at times feels lightly parodic of games where NPCs are foisted on you against your will, given how reluctant Chazz (Chase! It's Chase, right!) is and how his cheer squad keeps getting on his nerves, heh. I appreciated deeply that they don't usually overshadow the main character completely (and when they threaten to, he complains) and stay out of decisive battles and moments, and the only one that does somewhat do that on the regular, well... I have thoughts. Chase feels like THE MAIN CHARACTER and not the side guy to some blorbo's story.

They do feel like a real friend group after a while. I like them. :)

I've been watching Valerie and her actions very, very closely. If she turns out to be the Crimson Rose, that will be a very well foreshadowed and implemented twist. Hats off if that's the case. Double hats off if it's a deliberate play on the expectations of foisted favourite NPCs accompanying you!

~ Overall ~

Cool game! I'll be watching for another release in the future. I'm eager to follow through and see how Act 2 goes. Thoroughly hooked, very enjoyable game, thanks so much for all your hard work.

I just beat the 2nd gym and got the cut module but i can't use it. Is there a quest to do or something else to use it ?
I have Charmeleon, Noibat and Luxio in my team and I tried with Starly, Pidove and Wooper.

EDIT : Nevermind, I just caught a Deerling and it works. Really need to remove this restriction otherwise it's no different than the original HM system

First and foremost, thank you so much for trying out my game!
Secondly, thank you even more for taking the time and effort to write such a long and detailed reply <3333 you have no idea how much I appreciate this! I really enjoyed reading through all of it and I'm so happy to know that you enjoyed playing through the stories and characters just as much as I enjoyed writing them. Chase is the protagonist's "default" name but it isn't really "official" so you're free to call him whatever you want haha! I'm really glad you grew to love Chazz despite all his insecurities and eccentricities ^^ And I'm really, really glad you noticed all these details about him beyond his edginess - and all the other tiny details scattered throughout the game too! Whether Valerie is actually Scarlet Rose is a spoiler, of course. It's been a ton of fun reading your speculations, teehee~

The leveling issue is something I'll look into... but I cannot guarantee that I'll come up with a perfect solution for it. I regret to say that it probably wouldn't involve the EXP All because that might require me to overhaul major portions of the game, which I'm not exactly keen to do at this point. Have you tried the Audino challenge at the S-Maid Café (Grimmetts City)? You get to battle as many high exp Audino as your wallet allows you... perhaps this may help in grinding new team members. As for the Secret Hollows, their wild encounter rates are slated to be reduced (with better treasure too, I hope!) in the next update to somewhat mitigate how annoying they can be (though that won't be any time soon, unfortunately). The fast mode button is there for a reason! I am aware that this game is quite the slow burn at times - and I'm not exactly proficient at pacing or being succinct haha! >< Don't be afraid to use it!

Once again, I'm immensely grateful to you for liking my game and characters; it truly means so much to me. Thank you!! <33

Finish trying the game

In overall it's good game with pleasing graphics and good story, the characters get to grow as person and as human along the journey because of that the story is enjoyable to follow and read

The gameplay difficulties is normal not to hard and not to easy, there always places to grind in wild area. One big flow is i think the overworld gameplay HM system, although don't need to learn HM for Pokémon to make player destroy obstacles in map but obstacles can only being destroyed by Pokémon that have ability to use that certain HM this still hampering player experience to build certain party.

My biggest worry is because the game take long time to update the dev will find difficult to find suitable plugin for this game because it still use pokemon essential version 18.1, and it can make the dev frustrated. It's not because I'm impatient for updates but i ask around people's said the old the essentials the harder to find suitable plugin. I honestly hope I'm wrong about this info

In conclusion thank you for the amazing game hope see you soon and stay healthy

Thank for this video i learn about this game, not subscribe yet but got it random recommendations, maybe will subscribe in future. Also vanguard is amazing game you made, story carry the game but be careful too heavy leaning on story unconsciously make it edgy just like that happens on rebond so yeah be careful. Stay healthy

You're too kind, Ayrei! <33

Thank you!!

Thank you so much for playing! <33 And don't worry about the plugins issue haha! The dev has more or less already installed the most crucial ones (and is pretty resourceful when the need arises)!

I'm enjoying your game so far (hope to see act 2 soon).

I have a couple of questions:

1. Will I still have all my progress once Act 2 comes?

2. Is there a Discord for this project?
