Nearly five months after Chinese optical storage equipment supplier Amethystum Storage Technology Co. Ltd. was kicked out of Shanghai’s STAR Market on fraud allegations, regulators have punished company executives and arranged compensation for bleeding retail stock holders.

However, many questions still remain unanswered about how the one-time market darling became a financial black hole and who should be found accountable.
