A separate board fur /art/ isn't a good idea because it splits attention and may even create two different groups. Art is part of the 'foo so we can't split them. A separate board fur reference sheets or fanfics could work, or they just use google doc/paste bin

General threads are nice, but won't survive 5 pages. 10 pages would work, but it doesn't feel nice to be constantly pressured to bump. Also, from my experience generals would take over as can be seen on 4chan's /g/ where the entire catalog is generals. So, either all anthro posting goes into one thread and the foxes/dogs/wolves coexist or we maintain the status quo.

Small catalogs encourage fast-paced shitposting and causes OC threads to die in record time. This has the secondary effect of casual posters and lurkers not bothering with the website anymore as topics they may have an interest in disappear after just a few hours. 
This naturally leads to no-life spergs dominating the ecosystem which turns everything to shit (see 4chan)

the current system works perfectly fine though. The extra pages give us just enough buffer to prevent interesting threads from being killed by low-effurt engagement bait. 

Also, having to repost the same topic a bunch of times because it gets killed by one anon making dozens of single-image single-sentence bait threads drives away quality posters and OC chads

The threads at the bottom of the catty have last received a reply almost 2 months ago. It does not take nearly 2 months to bump the interesting threads. The bottom of the catalog threads only need to be there fur like a week tops.

Just because a thread is way down doesn't mean it's a thread that no one would have interest in. 

That's why it's good practice to bump a decent thread from the bottom pages whenever someone posts low effurt bait.
