Tokai University Educational System (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") has confirmed that a server managed and operated by Tokai Soft Development Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "the Contractor"), to which the Company outsources the maintenance and management of network systems, has been damaged by ransomware through unauthorized access from an external source.
We are currently working with the contractor to ascertain the full extent of the damage and to conduct an urgent investigation into the possibility of an information leakage. At this time, there is no evidence of direct intrusion into the university's internal network, but there is a strong suspicion that data containing personal information of persons related to this corporation stored on the outsourced server may have been leaked outside the university, so the external network has been partially shut down, with the protection of personal information as the highest priority.
