Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The logo looks like Chromium and people mistake it for a generic browser.
Describe the solution you'd like, including relevant patches or source
I propose using an animal as a logo similar to LibreWolf or Firefox, the furrier the better.

@weskerty Well, Uh,I like the logo, and this made me chuckle.
However, this is a serious browser, and I'm trying to distance myself as far away from the "furry incident", probably the most stupid thing I've ever done in my young adult life. It has permanently tainted Thorium in the underground nerd community, and I'm trying to get its reputation back, so, um, no I won't be committing this.
weskerty commentedon Oct 25, 2025
Still, it would be nice to have a logo other than Chromium, so that when someone sees it, they'll know it refers to Thorium—maybe an atom logo representing the element.
I know it's not urgent and a low priority, but it could be considered in the future 👍

“All publicity is good publicity”.
Perhaps Chris Titus’ video referencing the Easter egg brought new users - do we have any stats?

I knew him because of that.
When I installed it to see if it was true, it was gone. I arrived too late...

Nobody gives a crap about those sluggish browsers.
7 in 10 users use a browser based on chrome so why copy ?
if it was me I would only change the logo color to distinguish it from the other browsers.
weskerty commentedon Oct 25, 2025
It has no relation to these "slow browsers" (I also consider Firefox and forks to be slow).
Firefox and LibreWolf are mentioned for their animal logo, not the browser itself.
The Thorium logo is currently different, with a slightly different color and a weathered effect, but it's still insufficient to distinguish it.

Mayby @Alex313031 is open to other new or refresh logo ?

Here are some images, still with the blue design, from when googling Thorium :)

Wtf? this is too similar to librewolf
ilsadq commentedon Oct 29, 2025
I tried to generate an icon based on the idea of chromium and thorium atoms, and this is what I came up with. What do you think?
ericjamesonline commentedon Oct 29, 2025
@ilsadq out of principle, thumbs down for the AI (sh)art
i like the atom idea tho, don't think that's been done before

how does no one here know how to make a logo here...... fine I will do it my self.

It looks cool, but I think it would look strange on a small icon. Theoretically, you could place what you drew on top of the Chrome icon. (Stretch it across the entire width of your atom)

@ilsadq этот
kubatron commentedon Nov 4, 2025
What about that:
ilsadq commentedon Nov 4, 2025
