Anna is the main protagonist of the Wish Cat series. She is a young girl who believes in magic, and is best friend with her magical partner, Iemeow.
Appearance[]

Anna is an 11-year-old girl with pale skin, maroon eyes, and medium brown hair tied in a ponytail. She normally wears an unbuttoned teal cardigan with a small yellow heart motif on the front, a pink shirt with a graphic of a rainbow in front of a big yellow heart, a periwinkle frill hem skirt with two bows on it, and pink shoes with white socks. She also wears a yellow ribbon-shaped hair clip with a cat head emblem, and colorful bracelets on her right wrist.
Personality[]
Anna is an energetic, imaginative, and deeply kindhearted girl whose defining trait is her empathy-for both people and Wish Cats alike. From the very first episode, her playful curiosity and sense of wonder are apparent when she talks to animals as though they can understand her. She is quick to act with compassion, instinctively running to rescue Iemeow when she falls from the sky. Anna's openness to the impossible and her unshakable belief in magic make her the perfect human companion for the Wish Cats. Her initial embarrassment when Leo catches her talking to a bulldog hints at her self-consciousness, yet she never loses her innocence or willingness to dream. This balance between imagination and vulnerability shapes much of her personality throughout the series.
Anna is also remarkably courageous and determined, especially when her friends are in need. She shows this in small acts-like hiding Iemeow from her brother or taking initiative during magical adventures-and in large ones, such as risking her safety to save Iemeow from kidnappers. Even when faced with challenges she doesn't fully understand, Anna acts from instinct and emotion rather than fear. Her impulsiveness sometimes gets her into trouble, but it also highlights her genuine heart and unyielding loyalty. She often doubts her own abilities, admitting that she feels "not special" compared to the Wish Cats' talents, but this humility becomes part of her charm. She doesn't need to be magical to have a kind of magic in her-her compassion inspires others to believe in themselves.
Anna's empathy shines especially in how she supports others. For example, when Creameow loses confidence after ruining the cake, Anna is quick to comfort her with warmth and reassurance. She values effort and sincerity more than perfection, encouraging the Wish Cats to embrace their strengths and learn from their mistakes. Her ability to uplift others-even magical beings-reveals a maturity beyond her years. Anna is not just a dreamer; she's a nurturer. She helps those around her rediscover joy and confidence, whether that's through kind words, a hug, or her unwavering belief that everyone has something special within them.
Her relationship with Iemeow, however, is the emotional center of her character. Through Iemeow, Anna's personality blossoms from curiosity into profound emotional growth. At first, their bond is playful and innocent, filled with wonder and mischief. But as their adventures unfold, Anna's care for Iemeow deepens into something selfless and protective. When Iemeow feels inadequate or faces failure, Anna reassures her; when Iemeow is in danger, Anna risks everything to save her. By the final episodes, Anna's defining quality is her ability to love unconditionally. Her plea to the cat statue to let Iemeow graduate, even when it could mean losing her, proves how deeply she values friendship above her own desires.
Anna's arc shows her evolving from a girl who simply wants to be admired-hoping to impress Leo via various magical strategies-into someone who understands that real worth lies in kindness and connection. Her dream transforms from personal ambition into a heartfelt wish for others to be happy. This maturity culminates in her final act of selflessness, wishing not for fame or beauty, but for the chance to remain with her dearest friend. When she is transformed into a Wish Cat herself, it symbolizes the completion of her emotional journey-she becomes part of the magical world not because she wanted power, but because she embodied the very essence of a Wish Cat's purpose: to make others' hearts shine.
In the end, Anna is a dreamer grounded in love, a friend who believes in others more than herself, and a girl whose kindness bridges the worlds of humans and Wish Cats. Her warmth, sincerity, and courage make her not just the heroine of the story, but the heart of it.
Relationships[]
Iemeow[]

Anna hugging Iemeow
Anna and Iemeow share a bond that transcends the ordinary boundaries between human and magical being-a friendship so deep it becomes the emotional heart of the Wish Cat series. Their relationship begins by chance, when Anna's act of kindness saves Iemeow after her fall from the Cat Kingdom. From that moment, the two become inseparable partners, learning from each other and growing together. Iemeow's mission may have been to grant wishes, but through her time with Anna, she learns the meaning of compassion, loyalty, and courage. Anna, in turn, discovers that the truest kind of wish isn't about beauty, success, or romance-it's about connection, the kind that makes ordinary days feel magical.
Throughout their adventures, their friendship is repeatedly tested, from Iemeow's near-fatal illness to the impossible tower challenge. Yet, every trial only strengthens their devotion. Anna's willingness to fight for Iemeow's recognition and to carry her when she can no longer go on reflects a love that is pure and selfless. When Iemeow faces being separated from Anna after her graduation, both are devastated, revealing that their bond has become more than student and partner-it is one of soulmates bound by destiny. In the end, Anna's heartfelt wish to stay by Iemeow's side moves even the divine powers of the Wish Cat Kingdom, transforming her into a Wish Cat herself. Their relationship is thus the perfect embodiment of the series' theme: that the greatest wish of all is the wish to never let go of those who make your heart feel whole.
Sophie[]

Sophie walking with Anna
Anna and Sophie share a warm, genuine, and supportive friendship built on deep mutual care. They're best friends who often help each other through their insecurities and worries, though their personalities differ - Anna tends to take charge and act impulsively, while Sophie is gentler and more easily flustered.
Anna often looks out for Sophie, as seen when she uses her wishes to help calm Sophie's nerves before her piano performance. She truly wants Sophie to succeed and feel confident, showing how protective and devoted she is as a friend. Sophie, in turn, trusts Anna completely and finds comfort in her encouragement - Anna's words are enough to help her overcome her fear on stage.
At the same time, their friendship is mutually caring, not one-sided. When Anna feels insecure about her appearance, Sophie's presence and kindness remind her of what really matters. They both empathize deeply with each other's struggles - when Sophie's hair is ruined, Anna sacrifices her own wish to make Sophie happy again.
Their relationship feels close, sincere, and emotionally supportive - they share a bond where they lift each other up, worry for one another, and express their affection through small, heartfelt actions.
Leo[]

Anna flirting with Leo
Anna and Leo share a slowly evolving, tender relationship built on subtle mutual care, quiet admiration, and frequent misunderstandings. Anna clearly has a crush on Leo from the beginning, and many of her actions-like becoming an idol or trying to learn latte art-stem from a desire to impress him or get closer to him. Leo, on the other hand, remains polite and kind, showing flashes of genuine affection, such as bringing her ice cream when she's sad, complimenting her outfits, and choosing to spend time with her. However, he often appears unaware of Anna's deeper feelings or chooses not to address them directly. Their interactions are marked by a delicate push-and-pull dynamic, where Anna struggles with self-doubt and hesitation, and Leo quietly responds with gestures of kindness, even if he doesn't always fully understand the emotional context.
At several points, Anna attempts to influence or accelerate Leo's feelings through magical means or exaggerated gestures, like using Lovemeow's love spell or presenting him with a "love magic drink." However, these attempts either backfire or result in outcomes that leave Anna feeling more embarrassed and self-conscious than before. Through these missteps, she learns a consistent and important lesson: love cannot be forced, and true affection must come from authenticity, not wishful manipulation. Her bravery-especially in moments like saving Leo from falling boxes or apologizing for her mistakes-shows that her feelings go beyond infatuation; they're grounded in genuine care. Leo's reactions, while more reserved, hint at a growing affection. His quiet thoughtfulness, such as returning to comfort Anna after the spell incident or waiting patiently at the top of Rainbow Hill, suggests he values her presence deeply, even if he's not openly romantic.
Over time, their relationship transitions from one-sided admiration to something more mutual and emotionally complex. Anna begins to understand that love isn't about being perfect or always impressing someone-it's about being honest, brave, and present. She moves from desperately trying to win Leo's heart to wanting to earn it genuinely. Meanwhile, Leo, though reserved, increasingly shows that he notices Anna's efforts, appreciates her kindness, and is quietly moved by her actions. The two aren't officially a couple, but their shared moments-like seeing a rainbow together, surviving embarrassing situations, and helping each other through small struggles-lay the groundwork for a potential romance built on respect, warmth, and emotional growth. Their story feels less like a fairy tale and more like the quiet unfolding of first love, filled with hope, awkwardness, and sincerity.
Nick[]

Anna holding back Nick
Anna and Nick share a classic sibling relationship defined by teasing, curiosity, and reluctant affection. Nick often plays the role of the mischievous younger brother-nosy, playful, and always eager to provoke Anna just to see her reaction. He sneaks into her room, spies on her secretive behavior, and even disguises himself as a cat to uncover her hidden connection to the Wish Cats, showing both his cunning and his childlike persistence.
Anna, on the other hand, oscillates between exasperation and protectiveness. Nick's antics constantly test her patience, yet when he's in real danger-such as when he's turned into a baby and nearly hurt-her deep care for him surfaces immediately. Despite all the chaos, there's an unspoken warmth between them: Anna's frustration masks genuine love, and Nick's teasing hides a brotherly desire to stay close to her.
Their relationship thrives on playful conflict-equal parts annoyance and affection-capturing the essence of siblings who can't seem to stop driving each other crazy but would never truly want to be apart.
History[]
The Beginning of a Magical Friendship[]
Once upon a bright morning by the sea, Anna chats playfully with a sleepy bulldog outside her home. She asks the dog what wish it would want to make. The dog, of course, only blinks and snorts in reply. Anna laughs at her own silliness-until her classmate Leo walks by and catches her mid-conversation.
Startled, Anna tries to laugh it off, insisting the dog doesn't really understand her. Leo only smiles, amused by her whimsy, and starts off toward school. Blushing, Anna hurries after him, reminding him not to be late-a small moment that leaves both of them smiling.
Later that day, as she wanders along the boardwalk with the sea breeze in her hair, Anna can't stop thinking about her earlier embarrassment-or about her homework: to choose one wish she wants most of all. Only one wish! She sighs. There are far too many-she wishes to be prettier, to have a cat of her own, maybe even to be someone special.
Just then, a soft cry echoes from above. Looking up, Anna gasps-a small cat is tumbling from the sky! Without a thought, she dashes forward, arms outstretched. The cat lands safely on her backpack, blinking up at her with bright, curious eyes. And then, to her utter astonishment, it speaks.
The little creature introduces herself as Iemeow. Before Anna can say a word, a flash of golden light fills the air. From it steps a graceful cat named Elizabeth, her presence shimmering like sunlight on water. She leads Anna and Iemeow to a quiet gazebo by the beach and reveals the truth: she is a messenger from the queen, and Iemeow is no ordinary cat-she is a Wish Cat, sent to Earth to train.
Because Anna has saved her, and because her heart is kind and pure, Elizabeth declares that Anna will become Iemeow's human partner. But she gives a warning: the existence of Wish Cats must remain a secret. Then, with a final sparkle of light, Elizabeth vanishes, leaving Anna and Iemeow alone by the sea.
That night, Anna sneaks Iemeow into her bedroom, doing her best to keep her hidden from her nosy brother Nick. When Nick enters unexpectedly, Anna panics-pretending she's just exercising! Even when he returns with binoculars, she somehow manages to keep her secret safe.
At last, when the house grows quiet, Anna sits on her bed and sighs in relief. Anna wonders aloud where to keep Iemeow. With a flick of her paw, Iemeow answers the question-summoning a sparkling canopy above Anna's bed that opens into a magical, dreamlike world.
Inside that glittering space, Iemeow turns to Anna and asks softly what Anna's wish is. Anna thinks for a moment, then smiles shyly. Ahe wants to become an idol.
With a knowing purr, Iemeow spins the Wish Bracelet Maker, summoning another celestial cat-Starmeow-whose eyes shine like starlight. And so, beneath the canopy of dreams, the three begin their secret plan for Anna's sparkling transformation into a superstar. And that… is only the beginning of their story.
Anna's Lessons in Courage and Connection[]
From there on out, Anna's actions consistently reflect her warmhearted, curious, and impulsive nature. She often begins her day in ordinary, relatable ways-talking to animals, helping friends, or dreaming about her crush, Leo-but her kind instincts and vivid imagination quickly draw her into magical adventures with the Wish Cats. Whether she's saving a falling cat, becoming an idol, baking a cake, or facing her fear of heights, Anna's actions are driven by empathy and the desire to make others happy. She doesn't seek fame or power; she simply acts from her heart, even when things spiral into chaos.
Throughout her adventures, Anna tends to take initiative without always thinking things through, which often leads to funny or dramatic complications. When mistakes happen-whether caused by her or the Wish Cats-she never scolds others harshly. Instead, Anna comforts, encourages, and forgives, reminding everyone (and herself) that effort and sincerity matter more than perfection. Her actions reveal a pattern of selflessness and emotional growth: she learns to value genuine feelings over magic, friendship over success, and courage over fear.
In every episode, Anna's actions balance the fantastical with the deeply human. She rushes to rescue Iemeow from danger, consoles Creameow after a baking disaster, risks embarrassment to chase her dreams, and pushes herself to face her fears for her friends' sake. No matter the situation, Anna's choices bring warmth and light to those around her, making her the emotional heart of the series-and showing that even small acts of kindness can create magic more powerful than any wish.
Iemeow's Worries[]
Anna tries to study, but the Wish Cats are too noisy from the magical bed canopy. She crawls inside, and the Wish Cats explain that they like to show off their skills in the cat tower. Anna acknowledges their skills and feels she has nothing that makes her special.
Then, Anna gets hungry for a sandwich, and Iemeow makes a mess in the kitchen trying to get one for her. After cleaning up, the two see cute kitten plushies being sold at a store on TV. Anna says that, even though she wants one, the store is too far away to get it.
While dreaming of Leo, Anna wakes up to Wittymeow saying that Iemeow is gone. She and the other Wish Cats search for their beloved friend, Iemeow, and eventually find out her location using a tracker. They all get on Anna's bike and, with the help of Rolymeow, speed off to follow the kidnapper's car.
Anna finds the kidnapper and demands that she give Iemeow back. The kidnapper gets ready to confront Anna, but with the help of the other Wish Cats, is knocked out seconds later. After finally meeting with Iemeow again, Anna eagerly embraces her. Iemeow explains her motive for leaving. Anna comforts her by saying the reason she wanted the plushie was because it looked like Iemeow, and the two make up. That night Anna and Iemeow promise to help each other find out how special they are.
Anna's Declaration of Independence[]
The episode opens with Anna overhearing the Wish Cats in the Magic Cat Tower. They are wistfully discussing how they wish they could relax, with Poshmeow dreaming of a fancy picnic. Though Wittymeow stresses the need to prioritize their mission to avoid Elizabeth's disqualification, Anna recognizes the longing for a break in their voices.
Anna then makes a surprising announcement: she is going to Sophie's house alone. When Iemeow immediately suggests the Wish Cats should come along, anticipating a wish to grant, Anna expresses her firm hesitation. Anna recalls how their past "help" often led to unexpected complications, and she declares her intention to achieve her wishes entirely through her own efforts, stating her need for independence from their assistance. Anna then promptly leaves the house.
As Anna walks downtown, a team of Wish Cats-Selfiemeow, Shampoomeow, Lovemeow, Starmeow, and Sweetiemeow-spots her and launches their "cuteness strategy." They try to execute a plan where their adorable antics would help Anna meet Leo in an idol-like fashion. However, their execution is clumsy: Anna's annoyance peaks when Shampoomeow blows a blow dryer in Leo's face, snatches his bag, and runs off. When the remaining "cute team" approaches her to explain their dazzling plan, Anna sternly scolds them and tells them to go home. After Leo retrieves his bag, Anna continues on her path.
While Anna is at Sophie's house, a second group-Poshmeow, Creameow, Alohameow, and Lattemeow-prepares for "Operation 2: Sweet Seduction" at Anna's home, aiming to cheer her up with desserts when she returns.
When Anna finally arrives home, she becomes visibly upset upon seeing the Wish Cats already indulging in the snacks they were supposed to share. Her reaction confuses the cats, as they don't understand that she's disappointed they didn't wait. Anna leaves the failed "sweet strategy" behind.
Unseen by the final team of Wish Cats-Wittymeow, Iemeow, and Rolymeow-Anna's actions are setting up a final twist. After the cats initiate "Operation 3: Emergency Situation" by launching themselves into her room, Anna plants a mysterious message on her bed, which challenges the Wish Cats to meet her at the biggest tree in the park.
When the assembled Wish Cats rush to the park, believing this is Anna's way of cutting ties, Anna runs toward them. Iemeow pleads with her, but Anna firmly reiterates her decision not to rely on their powers anymore, letting the tension peak.
Then, Anna reveals her surprise: a beautifully prepared picnic spread. She explains her true intention: since they always granted her wishes, she wanted to do something special for them in return-a break they clearly wanted. Anna admits she sought Sophie's help to create the surprise. Iemeow then playfully asks if her "cold behavior" successfully made the surprise more impactful. Anna clarifies that she was upset earlier because she wanted them to enjoy the snacks she had made for them, even if they weren't perfect, rather than consuming them before she arrived. Anna then reaffirms her commitment to staying with them by joining them in a happy group embrace.
Iemeow Fell Ill![]
Anna begins the story by questioning an invitation from Leo to go to the zoo, asking if he is proposing a romantic date. When he clarifies it's for a homework assignment, she first hesitates, then agrees to make time, but firmly states she is only going to help with his schoolwork, and she finalizes the meeting time and place. Later, while trying to sleep, Anna's thoughts drift to the outing, and she mentally debates if it could be a date before consciously dismissing the idea and sticking to the "homework" excuse.
The next morning, Anna realizes she has overslept. Before rushing out, she calmly instructs Iemeow to watch the house. At the zoo, she is shown briefly stumbling. She later consents to Leo's plan to buy drinks, telling him she'll wait for him. Her attention is then abruptly diverted by an emergency, and she asks Wittymeow what is happening. Upon seeing Iemeow collapse, Anna immediately expresses regret and apologizes profusely, blaming herself for being overly excited about the outing and failing to notice her pet's poor health.
Anna takes Iemeow to a veterinarian and receives the devastating news that the cat's illness cannot be treated there or at any other conventional hospital. Desperate, she asks what their next course of action should be. She then learns about the specialized doctor for Wish Cats, Doctormeow, and presents Iemeow to her. Doctormeow diagnoses the cat with a unique disease, Meowfluenza, and Anna urgently asks for the necessary remedy, noting the cat's severe fever. She is told that she is the only person who can create the cure.
As a preliminary treatment, Anna is asked to get an ice pack to help cool Iemeow, a task she quickly accomplishes. When the fever doesn't immediately break, she alerts the doctor to the lack of change. After a different intervention by the doctor, Anna joyfully exclaims that the fever has gone down. She then asks what the permanent solution for the underlying disease is. She accepts the challenge to collect specific, magical ingredients listed on a prescription to brew a cure. Overwhelmed by the gravity of the situation, Anna cries out that she refuses to lose Iemeow and pleads with the cat to stay with her.
Anna seeks the aid of her friends and then goes to a store, asking a vendor for an item called rainbow ginger. She learns the last portion was just purchased and immediately calls out to Sophie. Anna explains her lack of time and urgently begs Sophie to share the ingredient.
After retrieving all the items, Anna informs the doctor that she has successfully gathered everything. She watches as Doctormeow begins to prepare the medicine and asks if she is truly adding the ingredients to the pot. When informed that the final ingredient must be "love and sincerity," Anna asks how a person can add those feelings to a potion. As time runs out, Anna reflects on Iemeow's constant support and presence in her life. She emotionally rejects the thought of being separated from her pet and passionately asks Iemeow to stay forever. She then successfully administers the final remedy.
Anna is later found crying by Iemeow, who has now recovered and asks why she is upset. Anna expresses how intensely worried she was. After the doctor leaves, Anna sees Leo approaching. She apologizes to Leo for her abrupt departure earlier and thanks him when he returns her forgotten drawing assignment. She says goodbye to him, promising to see him the following day at school, and waves as he leaves. Anna concludes by expressing her profound happiness.
The Final Climb of Friendship[]
Anna feels a rush of excitement and disbelief upon being invited to the legendary Wish Cat Kingdom. When Queenymeow directs her, Anna opens her diary, allowing the group to confirm that she has met the prerequisite of collecting all the necessary cards. When the rainbow path to the sky is conjured, she pauses, listens to Iemeow affirm their friendship as destiny, and then takes a deep breath before resolutely pushing open the grand, intricate door to the kingdom, instantly transporting her into the magnificent feline paradise.
At the formal graduation ceremony, the joy is quickly overshadowed by Iemeow's distress over not receiving a medal. Anna immediately steps forward and passionately defends her best friend. She argues that the other Wish Cats would not have met her or completed the task without Iemeow's initial, critical assistance. This powerful defense earns Iemeow a final, extraordinary challenge: climbing an impossibly tall tower within one hour.
Anna, without hesitation, commits herself fully to the challenge alongside Iemeow, declaring their shared determination. The clock begins ticking immediately. In the first button-pressing room, Anna works as part of the team. She then helps complete the display challenges for the Elizabeth judges. When the ascent becomes stressful, Anna is calmed by Alohameow's music. After Iemeow makes a terrifying leap, Anna holds on to her as the cat is caught, and she eventually enters the next door hand in hand with Iemeow. She is then seen running with Wittymeow and Iemeow to escape the massive stone boulder that rolls towards them in the maze.
When the group reaches the floating platforms, Anna continues the climb. When Iemeow collapses from exhaustion, Anna rushes over in extreme distress. After Wittymeow sustains an injury, he entrusts Iemeow to her. Anna carefully carries her unconscious friend, beginning a deep, personal reflection on her relationship with the Wish Cats. She decides that the most precious wish that ever came true was simply the gift of Iemeow's presence.
With tears streaming down her face and a look of sheer desperation, Anna encounters the magic cat statue. She pours out her heart and begs it to grant one final, major wish: that Iemeow be allowed to complete her apprenticeship, regardless of her unconscious state.
Her wish is granted, and Iemeow wakes up. However, the celebration is ruined by the rule requiring Iemeow to live in the kingdom. In an attempt to be selfless for her friend’s future, Anna pretends to be relieved, falsely claiming the Wish Cats were a source of trouble and that she looks forward to peace, effectively pushing Iemeow away. When Iemeow tearfully confesses her love, Anna finally breaks down, admitting that she was lying and deeply regrets the thought of their separation. The two friends then share a powerful, tearful embrace.
After Elizabeth grants an exception, allowing Iemeow to stay, Anna and the others say goodbye to Wittymeow. Before the remaining Wish Cats depart, Anna makes a final, poignant desire to the statue. She wishes that she, too, could become a Wish Cat so that she could continue to share in their adventures. Impressed, the statue grants this wish. Anna is instantly enveloped in a magical light as she transforms, but her new beginning is a clumsy one: the cat-version of Anna tumbles out of the sky and lands on Leo, confused by the sight and sound of the unusual cat he now holds.
