Gapejak (previously known as Guinness World Record Soyjak[3], screaming soyjak, schizophrenia soyjak, and screamingbaldsoyjak)[4] is a primary Soyjak variant. He is one of the several Soyjaks that are visually based off of Bernd Schmidt, the 2016 Guinness world record holder for the world's largest mouth gape.[5] He was first posted on 4chan's /mu/ board in January 2020, and has since spawned a large amount of subvariants and heavily inspired many separate Soyjak variants.

Since February 2025, Gapejak is one of the many rollable names on soyjak.party.

Appearance & Behavior

Gapejak has a uniquely shaped bald head, glasses, a scraggly beard, and a very large mouth. His versatility to fit any depiction of a soy boy had made him a very successful Soyjak.

This Soyjak can be highly unpredictable. Sometimes he has good intentions, as seen in the Wholesome Soyjak variant, but even the wholesome variant has (intentionally or unintentionally) done bad things.[6] The angry mask-wearing variant, much like Feraljak, militantly supports every tenet of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.[7] [8] [9] [10] The angry, mustached variant's first known appearance was on /tv/ in April 2020,[11] and the angry frowning variant in February 2020.[12]

History

The first known occurrence of this soyjak was on 4channel's /mu/ board.[2] Over time, this soyjak has evolved into many variants, such as the Impish Soyak Ears. It has also sparked the subvariant Bernd which later evolved into hanging troonjaks and played a key role in The Great Soyset.

According to the Booru, Gapejak is the third most popular variant (it used to be the most popular before getting overtaken by Chudjak and Cobson respectively), although this is likely due to the large number of subvariants made from him. As of April 23, 2025, he has the third highest number of posts (12,155), and he is one of only six to have over 10,000 posts on the Booru (the others being Chudjak, Cobson, Soyak, Markiplier Soyjak, and Bernd). If one counts Impish Soyak Ears as a subvariant of Gapejak, Gapejak would surpass Chudjak as the most posted variant on the 'ru with over 17,000 posts.[a]

Criticism

In recent times the variant, mainly the Wholesome Soyjak subvariant, has been subjected to criticism by Chuds [Its just 1 obsessed schizo doe] for being an inoffensive self-insert, and popular with offsiters.

Gapejak detractors are petty and try everything in order to sabotage Gapejak's success, from vandalizing this very page to throwing insults on SoyBooru and soyjak.party, but these schizos usually get BTFO'd just by simply being ignored.
