あんまり国を悪く言いたくないんだけど… 話題のナウルに6日間いて、正直かなりしんどかった。 珍しい国に来れたのは嬉しかったけど、毎日何かしらモヤモヤがあって、 今日ついに「もう無理だ…」ってなった。 52ヶ国まわってきたけど、再訪しない国ランキング、ここが圧倒的1位。

正直ナウル観光局さんは今までに見たことないほど神対応してくださってます！ おかげでどんどんナウルが楽しくなってます！ 現地の人にも良くしてもらってます！ が、ナウル航空にはがっかりすぎる！今だに昨日から1通も連絡が来てないし、催促メール送っても音沙汰もない。 なんなの！笑

ナウル観光局さんが元国会議長の方との交流を手配してくださり、 なんとナウルの伝統料理「ダラール」までいただきました…！ 想像以上においしくて、味付けも日本人にすごく合う絶品でした。 お腹も心も満たされました。 昨日は疲れすぎて22時に寝ました。笑

それでも良かったことはある ・ナウル訪問の際、僕がギリギリになってしまったけど、Xのナウル観光の中の方が優しく様々教えてくれた ・グローバルWi-Fiが通じるから電波の心配なし ・優しくしてくれた島民はいる ・第二次世界大戦について学べた けどごめんだけど、再訪したいとは思わない…

何度も言うけど僕はこの国の"ごく一部"しか見れてない。感じることは人それぞれだと思うし、次来る方はナウルが大好きになるかもしれない。 単純に僕が経験した一部をXにポストしたので、見方が変われば違うかもしれない。 次来る人の意見も知りたい！もしくは行った人の意見も知りたいです！

まず、笑顔と挨拶が少ない。 フィジー・ツバル・サモアを経由して来たから余計に差を感じたのかもだけど、挨拶しても返ってこないことが多い。 スーパーやレストランでも基本的に無表情で、距離がある空気感。 「文化の違い」と言えばそれまでだけど、正直ずっと居ると心がちょっと削られる。

で、航空会社に自分で電話したら 「今起きたばかりだから後で」と逆ギレされ、挙げ句その便もキャンセル。 今、現地時間8:30。 今日の便が本当に飛ぶのかすら誰もわからない。 理由の説明もない。 連絡もない。 空は快晴。 もう本当に意味がわからない。

次に、食が楽しめない。 レストランはほぼ中華で、車を使えば現地っぽい料理も少しはあるけど、基本は輸入頼り。 「ナウルならではのご飯」が味わえなくて、旅の楽しさの一つがごっそり抜け落ちてる感覚。 観光で来てる身としては、正直わくわくしにくかった。

で、オフィスに行っても振替便は決まらず、数時間待って「翌朝5時の便」と言われた。 でも自分はキリバスでの予定が全部組まれてて、翌日マジュロ行きの便も取ってた。 それが全部パー。ホテル代・移動代・後ろの便まで全部ズレて、4〜50万は飛んだ。

ナウルを気になってる皆んな聞いてくれ。 「ゾンビストア」という場所があるから興味本位で行ったんだけど… ・Googleマップにはしっかり店名がある ・ピンの場所には建物はある ・でも店はどこにもない 建物の家の人に聞いたら 「そんな店知らん」って追い返されて、 近くの店の人に聞いたら

「じゃあどうすれば？」と聞いたら 「中心の航空会社オフィスに行け。徒歩で1時間弱」 いやタクシー呼んでくれと頼んでも「無理」 ここは本当に意味がわからない。 幸い、空港周囲で探したら、周りの人が乗せてくれて助かった。そこは本当にありがたかった。

ナウル航空会社に「その一部(12万)で良いから補償してくれ」と言ったけど 「私たちに責任はない」 で終了。意味わからない。 一応、ホテルは取ってくれたけど、レストランは高くてハンバーガー2000円。もちろん自腹。まぁこれはしゃーない。笑

翌朝2時、シャトルで空港へ行こうとしたら 「その便もキャンセルになってる」と。 また通知は一切なし。 もうキリバスは諦めて、ナウル→マジュロの直行便に乗ろうと思って朝7時にホテル出発しようとして、ホテルに電話頼んだら 「もう電話したくないから自分でかけて」と言われる。いや仕事して…

これはかなりしんどかった 宿の部屋が電子キーロックなんだけど、子供達がそれをおもちゃみたいに触って、ドアを叩いてくることが何度もあった。 部屋に戻ると「見せて」と寄ってきて、注意もしたしオーナーにも伝えたけど、特に変わらない。 …続く

キーロックが4桁の番号で簡単だから、もし自分がいない間に開けられていたらと思うと、ずっと落ち着かなかった。 深夜に物音した時は怖さを感じたし、滞在中ずっと気が張ってしまった。

正直舐めてた。 海外で猫に引っ掻かれて、血が出て、致死率100%の狂犬病のリスク持って、病院行って、死と向き合って、しんどい思いして。 Xに投稿して 「自業自得だろ」「これだから海外は」とか心ない言葉を浴びせられる…。 とそう思ってた。 けどそんなことなかった。
