Yes. When I was admin, I recognized a lot of people.
One of my favorites was this guy from ohio that accidentally posted a pic of his real name (from a homework pic) so I edited it out. He's a deliver presents togood boy though.
There's also a few other people I'd recognize by ip and it seemed no different to checking a social media profile.
I miss them all.

Only managers and admins can see ips. That's how I set it up. Mods see a salt.

I bought the wiki and started talking to both kuz and doll at a very early time. It seemed I was always going to get site access at some point and that happened after the site transfer, which was all done by kuz (doll didn't have access to the site before the transfer). Right as the transfer finished and kuz botched the site I was given ssh access and started fixing everything, then I met doll irl.
Basically I was given admin because I needed to help fix up the site and it was a lot harder without it.
Then the red incident and doll wanted to step away for a while. I was given temporary admin as kind of a "trust" until santa claus could fully purchase the website.
