Why is the weather guy, Kevin, commenting on a plane crash as if he is an expert?

Right... I'm sure ALL TV stations have a plane crash guy. Why wouldn't they use THAT person?!
They all DON’T have a “plane crash guy.” They barely have competent reporters.
